MTG Assassin’s Creed: Revealing All Pieces of Eden Artifacts

At the very start, Assassin’s Creed impressed players with its narrative and gameplay, but it was the precursor civilization of the series – The Isu – that garnered a great deal of attention from fans.

The captivating combination of science fiction and historical elements established the overall atmosphere of the franchise, and the Isu have consistently served as a crucial aspect of the series’ storyline.

The Pieces of Eden are one of the Isu’s most significant contributions to the world of Assassin’s Creed. While they may appear to possess mystical qualities, their immense and otherworldly abilities only serve as evidence of the Isu’s remarkable technological advancements.

As the Pieces of Eden hold great significance in Assassin’s Creed, it was only a matter of time before they made a prominent appearance in the series’ crossover with Magic: The Gathering. This collection features a range of Artifact cards depicting the Pieces of Eden, which have all been gathered here for easy access.

All Pieces of Eden Cards in Universes Beyond Assassin’s Creed

Apple of Eden, Isu Relic

The Apple of Eden remains a highly sought-after object in the early entries of Assassin’s Creed, as original protagonist Desmond Miles wields the Artifact with devastating consequences within Abstergo’s walls.

The MTG version of Apple is equally potent, utilizing the control provided by this Artifact to enable you to play your opponent’s hand.

The Apple of Eden can be activated by paying 4 generic mana and 4 life. This allows you to view and remove an opponent’s hand, granting you the ability to play any of the cards for the remainder of the turn. This can be highly advantageous, however, the opponent will draw an extra card for each of the initial cards played. Any cards not cast during this turn will be returned to their hand during the end step.

Caduceus, Staff of Hermes

Caduceus is a white-mana Equipment that is reminiscent of the popular lifegain card, Serra Ascendant. Similar to the Ascendant, Caduceus bestows a Creature with +5/+5 as long as its controller’s life is 30 or more. Additionally, the Creature becomes indestructible, impervious to damage, and gains lifeline, creating a formidable attacker that will continuously increase your life points every round.

Crystal Skull, Isu Spyglass

Ubisoft/WotC

The Crystal Skulls were first introduced in Black Flag, a beloved pirate-themed entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. These skulls act as tools for the Isu, allowing them to record, monitor, and communicate effectively.

The Crystal Skull in MTG effectively reflects its in-game purpose. It allows players to look at the top card of their library at any time and play it as long as it is a Historic card. Additionally, the Crystal Skull acts as a mana rock, providing its controller with an extra blue mana.

Excalibur, Sword of Eden

Excalibur, an amazing combat booster, can be cast at no cost when combined with appropriate Historic elements. While other Pieces of Eden may have more nuanced applications, Excalibur truly lives up to its renowned status by empowering even the weakest Creature to achieve immense strength.

Mjolnir, Storm Hammer

MTG Assassin's Creed Mjolnir
Ubisoft/WotC

Valhalla, the Norse installment of Assassin’s Creed, is accurately portrayed in this Universes Beyond set. Along with potential Commanders such as Eivor, there is also a powerful Artifact known as Mjölnir which has a destructive impact on the board and can also inflict damage.

Mjölnir has the ability to tap and stun an opponent’s Creature, effectively removing a major threat from combat for a considerable amount of time. This strategic move can also serve as a deterrent for other players to block you in the first place. Additionally, overextending will result in severe consequences for opponents, as Mjölnir’s direct damage output increases based on the number of tapped Creatures they control.

Staff of Eden and Vault’s Key

Ubisoft/WotC

Fans of the original Assassin’s Creed games will surely recognize this Artifact as the one used by Ezio during his iconic confrontation with the Pope. In its MTG incarnation, the Staff of Eden serves as a powerful tool for recursion and theft, allowing players to bring a Legendary permanent from any graveyard onto the battlefield under their control.

The Staff can be relied upon as a consistent source of card draw, replenishing your hand each turn in decks that enjoy seizing control of opponents’ permanents.

The Epic Tale of the Sword of Light and Shadow

While the Sword of Light and Shadow may not be a completely original card design, it is actually a reprint of an existing MTG card within the Assassin’s Creed universe. However, both MTG players and Assassin’s Creed fans have little reason to be dissatisfied, as the Mirran Sword cycle consists of highly effective and versatile equipment cards that are among the best in the game.

The Spear of Leonidas

Ubisoft/WotC

Originating from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, this Piece of Eden has a strong connection to the game’s main character. Although this card can stand on its own, it truly shines when used alongside Kassandra, the Eagle-Bearer.

The Spear of Leonidas is an excellent choice for red mana players who desire more in combat than just brute force and speed, as it offers a diverse range of potential abilities.
