Renowned MTG illustrator Richard Kane Ferguson has launched a Kickstarter campaign to offer exclusive prints and playmats to MTG enthusiasts.
Richard Kane Ferguson is renowned as one of the most talented and productive artists to have contributed to Magic: The Gathering. His numerous captivating artworks have greatly influenced the game’s aesthetic over the years, and now enthusiasts can acquire them in a fresh and exciting format.
The artist is currently holding a Kickstarter campaign to display their renowned artwork in a unique manner, offering limited edition prints and playmats. Fans of Magic: The Gathering, regardless of their level of experience, are likely to have come across a card designed by Ferguson and now have the opportunity to showcase these designs during their next game.
Ferguson explains that, in addition to the rewards related to MTG, the campaign donations will also be used to support the creation of a one-of-a-kind, creator-owned graphic novel project called The Lost Book of Kings.
At the most basic reward level, supporters of this campaign will be given 1 exclusive playmat with a signature and number, showcasing one of the talented artist’s stunning MTG artworks. The campaign also offers multiple higher reward tiers, such as mats and prints, with the ultimate tier consisting of a set of 5 prints.
Please note that the MTG artwork pieces to be used for this merchandise have not yet been chosen. Once the campaign reaches its goal, surveys will be sent to backers to select from a variety of MTG extended artworks.
The initial selection of art includes Force of Will, Vampiric Tutor, Mystical Tutor, Enlightened Tutor, and Worldly Tutor from Magic: Dominaria Remastered. Additional options will become available through stretch goals and voting throughout the campaign.
