MTV EMA 2024: BLACKPINK’s Lisa and LE SSERAFIM Dominate K-Pop Nominations

As reported on the MTV EMA website on the 9th, Lisa has garnered nominations for ‘Best Collaboration’ and ‘Best Video’ thanks to her joint track “New Woman”featuring Rosalía. Additionally, she is up for ‘Best K-Pop’ and ‘Biggest Fans’ awards as well.

LE SSERAFIM has secured nominations in three different categories: ‘Best New’, ‘Best Push’, and ‘Best K-Pop’.

In an announcement made on the 8th (local time), NewJeans was nominated for the prestigious ‘Best K-Pop’ category in the 2024 MTV EMA. This recognition marks their second consecutive year of nominations. They will face competition from BTS’s Jimin and Jungkook, BLACKPINK’s Lisa, Stray Kids, and LE SSERAFIM.

This year, NewJeans has achieved remarkable success with their double single “How Sweet” and their debut Japanese single “Supernatural.” In June, they made history as the fastest foreign act (within just 1 year and 11 months) to perform at Tokyo Dome, managing to sell out all their shows.

IVE has risen to international fame with their title track “Magnetic” from their debut album Super Real Me, which was released in March. This song made history by becoming the first debut track from a K-pop group to appear in the UK’s Official Singles Top 100 (on April 5th), where it held its position for three consecutive weeks. The group has received a nomination for ‘Best Asian Act’ as well.

The upcoming MTV EMA event is scheduled to take place in Manchester, UK, on November 10th (local time).
