Players have found the new voice lines in MultiVersus, which take aim at The Rock’s Black Adam movie, to be “beyond hilarious.”
MultiVersus is making a comeback with Season 1 of the game set to launch in May 2024, following its previous year-long early access period between 2022 and 2023.
Despite the addition of more characters and significant quality-of-life improvements, the game continues to face criticism for its decision to require purchases for certain characters, even in local or training modes.
Despite some criticisms, the new voice lines and dialogue between characters in the game have been receiving praise. This has resulted in some interesting interactions between popular characters such as Batman, Tom & Jerry, Human Finn, and others.
Many viewers have found one specific dialogue to be quite comical, as The Joker mocks Black Adam and references the unsuccessful live-action movie featuring Dwayne “The Rock”Johnson as the character.
The MultiVerses community was captivated by a video uploaded by YouTuber Ben-Gun, featuring all of the new voice lines spoken by Joker while wearing the legendary Batman Who Laughs skin. Among these lines, Black Adam’s comment at the three-minute mark received the most attention. The video can be accessed through Ben-Gun’s YouTube channel.
When The Joker wears the Batman Who Laughs Legendary Skin, he will jokingly remark, “I thought you were busy ‘reshuffling the power structure’ or something?”
Despite the film being highly praised by The Rock and others involved in its production, the 2022 DC movie was labeled a box office failure and received harsh criticism from reviewers.
Frequently while promoting the film, The Rock would mention Black Adam’s goal of “shifting the balance of power”in the DCEU. The post-credits scene of the movie was originally intended to foreshadow a clash between Black Adam and Henry Cavill’s Superman.
Despite Cavill’s recasting and the lack of confirmation for another Black Adam movie, it seems that The Rock’s involvement with DC and the character is no longer a possibility. This makes the mention of his previous comments even more amusing for fans.
A comment made by a user on YouTube read, “It’s absolutely hilarious that they dare to reference the Rock’s “hierarchy”.”
Moreover, one individual stated that, although the phrase is well-known, it was ultimately Warner Bros. who made the decision to “employ him.”
