The sixteenth episode of season 2 of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation began with Rudeus conversing with Ruijerd and gaining insight into his travels. Rudeus was shocked upon hearing that Ruijerd had encountered Roxy. As Ruijerd inquired about Eris, Rudeus recounted the entire incident. However, due to Ruijerd’s familiarity with Eris, he speculated that Rudeus may have misinterpreted her actions.
The following day, Ruijerd made the decision to continue his journey and leave the front gates. As he was about to depart, he ran into Badigadi. Rudeus was apprehensive about the two potentially getting into a fight, as their rivalry dated back to the Laplace War. However, to his surprise, nothing eventful occurred and Badigadi left with a perplexed look on their face.
Rudeus invited Ruijerd to join him and his family for breakfast before beginning their journey. As they prepared to depart, Ruijerd made a request to Aisha and Norn to refrain from causing any trouble for their older brother. He assured them that he would return promptly. Suddenly, Norn expressed her desire to accompany Ruijerd, stating that she did not want to remain with Rudeus, who had punched their father.
After Ruijerd’s departure, Rudeus learned that his father had sent gifts for his sisters through Aisha and Norn. Following his father’s wishes, Rudeus made the decision to enroll his sisters in school. However, they were reluctant to attend. Rudeus was overwhelmed by the sudden responsibility of looking after his sisters, but Sylphy was there to help him stay composed.
The following day, Aisha deliberately performed well on her exams in an attempt to prove that she did not need to attend school. Meanwhile, Norn received an average score. Afterward, Norn approached Rudeus and expressed her desire to live in a dorm, which he agreed to in hopes that she would be able to make new friends and adjust to her new surroundings. However, Aisha perceived Rudeus’ accommodation of Norn’s request as a sign of favoritism and resented his kindness towards Norn despite her own rude behavior.
Aisha expressed to Rudeus that she believed he disliked her because she was his half-sister. However, Rudeus kindly clarified to her that it was simply a misunderstanding, as he treated both of them equally. The following day, while Rudeus was still trying to make sense of his surroundings, Linia and Pursena played a prank on him that only made his situation even more difficult.
Despite Princess Ariel taking matters into her own hands, she ultimately spared Rudeus upon discovering his innocence. However, despite his efforts, Rudeus found it incredibly difficult to win over Norn.
