Must-Play Nintendo Switch Playtest Game for Minecraft Fans Revealed

Nintendo’s enigmatic Switch Online playtest has surfaced, offering gamers an early look at an upcoming game reminiscent of popular titles like Minecraft.

Despite Nintendo’s request for players to keep details about the playtest under wraps, several streamers have started to release gameplay footage showcasing this new title. Leaked details from the playtest website suggest that the game is a social experience where players collaborate to create an expansive planet.

This concept certainly sounds familiar! Much like Minecraft, the leaked title allows players to harness their “imagination and gathered resources” to expand their planetary creations. Moreover, akin to the enemy mobs found in Mojang’s classic, Nintendo’s game will introduce its own set of formidable foes.

While the specifics of these adversaries remain undisclosed, the leaks have shed light on some gameplay aspects. Players will utilize special tools named Beacons, which are designed to rejuvenate and restore areas of the game world according to the leaked documents.

The gameplay from the Nintendo Switch Online playtest has already been unveiled.

Every participant will be responsible for developing their designated area while integrating it into a larger planet. However, regions within a player’s Beacon area are exclusively theirs and cannot be altered by others.

There will also be shared areas where players can gather blocks and modify the environment alongside other adventurers. This aspect alleviates issues commonly faced in multiplayer sandbox games, like Minecraft, where griefers can ruin gameplay experiences.

Advancing within your Beacon zone will grant you Dev Points—experience points that can be utilized for character evolution. Upon leveling up, players gain access to additional items that enhance their ability to develop the planet.

Although the leaks haven’t detailed what these items entail, this leveling system promises to keep the gameplay engaging. While Nintendo’s sandbox game might not rival Minecraft in complexity, its focus on collaboration and distinctive Beacon mechanics introduces a compelling twist to existing formulas.
