The new JAK Devastators Aftermarket Part allows you to wield two Reclaimer 18 Shotguns, effectively doubling your firepower in MW3. However, despite its lethal promise, players have expressed disappointment over its performance, leading some to suspect a significant bug affecting its functionality.
The introduction of Aftermarket Parts in MW3 aimed to provide players with enhanced options for loadout customization. These unique attachments alter the handling of a weapon and can even transform it into a completely different type of firearm.
While some attachments, like the JAK Tyrant 762, have quickly become favorites among players, others, including the JAK Devastators, have struggled to gain traction in the game.
On September 12, the JAK Devastators were released as part of the Week 8 Challenges, allowing players to dual-wield the Reclaimer 18 Shotgun. Despite this exciting feature, many users were frustrated by the “disappointingly low”fire rate of these Akimbo Shotguns.
The discussion gained momentum when a Reddit user shared a video that compared the fire rate of the Devastators to the standard Reclaimer 18, clearly demonstrating how the Aftermarket Part significantly slows it down. A single Reclaimer, also known as the SPAS-12, is capable of firing as many rounds on the ‘Pump’ setting as it can with the Akimbo attachment in the same period. Furthermore, switching to semi-auto mode allowed for an even quicker discharge of ammunition.

While some MW3 players speculated that this reduced fire rate might be an intentional design choice to avoid releasing another overpowered aftermarket part, others firmly believe it is a glitch. One user stated, “I genuinely don’t believe this was a deliberate design choice,” while another concurred, noting: “Yes, they’re seriously bugged. When I fire them in the firing range, there’s a delay, and the shells seem to get stuck.”
The developers have not yet confirmed the existence of a glitch affecting the JAK Devastators or whether the Aftermarket Part is functioning as intended. If it is indeed a problem, players may expect a fix in the upcoming MW3 Season 6 update, which is anticipated to introduce new weapons such as the DTIR 30-06 and Kastov LSW.
