Players of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone expressed their dissatisfaction with the significant nerf to the COR-45 in Season 5, prompting Sledgehammer Games to take their feedback into consideration and announce a buff.
As a result of the Season 5 weapon updates, the COR-45 experienced a 36% decrease in fire rate and a lowered fire rate when equipped with the XRK v6 Match Trigger Action and XRK v21 Heavy Match Trigger Action attachments.
This development occurred following the devs’ obligation to address a COR-45 exploit in the July 11 update that previously allowed players to exploit faster fire rates by using unconventional input methods.
Despite Sledgehammer Games’ efforts to remove the COR-45 from the meta in Season 5, it was deemed “useless”by players in both multiplayer and battle royale matches. As a result, the developers were forced to backtrack on their decision.
Sledgehammer Games responded, acknowledging the feedback and announcing upcoming fire rate improvements for the COR-45 that will be released soon.
NEW: Sledgehammer Games has made fire rate improvements for the COR-45 pistol that they expect to release soon. I’ve seen a ton of people complaining that the pistol has been useless since the Season 5 update so hopefully this fixes that. pic.twitter.com/raLbSpNUeO

Some players were curious about the reasoning behind the COR-45’s nerf. One user even argued that it should have never been changed.
There are players who argue that the pistol was never a formidable weapon to begin with, therefore they are skeptical of the nerf.
The second player also asserted that it has always been useless.
Some commenters took advantage of this opportunity to request for additional pistols to be included throughout MW3’s lifespan.
“We’re all still waiting for a new pistol to be added, it’s the only weapon class that hasn’t received a new gun yet,” a third player chimed in.
Despite not disclosing a release date for the upcoming COR-45 buff, Sledgehammer Games has been met with enthusiasm from pistol fans who are grateful to see their beloved class receiving recognition at last.
