MW3 LTM removes “annoying” Killstreaks and players want it permanently

MW3 players were recently given the opportunity to play a Streakless LTM in the June 13 playlist update, and it has been met with much enthusiasm and a desire for it to become a permanent addition to the game.

In the June 13 update, MW3 introduced a Streakless Rustment playlist that features the standard ruleset and modes on Rust and Shipment, but without Killstreaks.

In Call of Duty multiplayer, killstreaks play a significant role, although they can be aggravating when they completely control the lobby, particularly when the opposing team is performing exceptionally well.

With the introduction of the Streakless playlist, players can now enjoy the game without the added stress of being exposed by an enemy UAV or being targeted by a Chopper Gunner as they respawn.

The MW3 community is also enjoying it greatly, to the point where they are hoping for it to become a permanent playlist in the game. This sentiment was expressed by players on Reddit.

One user requested, “I’ve had my fill, can we have a permanent streakless mode please?”Meanwhile, another shared, “The streakless playlist is a much-needed change. I hope more maps will be added.”

Many people believe that the absence of Killstreaks results in a faster pace of play and less camping. This also allows players to experiment with different loadouts as there is less pressure to use Perks that counter enemy Killstreaks.

The duration of availability for the Streakless Rustment LTM in MW3 is uncertain, but if there is sufficient demand, the developers have no reason not to reintroduce it.

If you’re worried about not having it, one comment on the Modern Warfare III subreddit pointed out that the War game mode does not include Killstreaks either. Therefore, if you’re a fan of Streakless Rustment, you should consider giving it a try if you haven’t already.

The first Black Ops game included a mode called Barebones, which did not have Killstreaks. It is possible that Treyarch will take note of the popularity of this streak-free playlist and decide to reintroduce it in Black Ops 6.
