Modern Warfare 3 players are calling for a specific skin to be banned from Ranked mode due to its difficulty in spotting.
The range of Operator cosmetic packs in Call of Duty seems endless these days, offering skins via the Store, Battle Pass, Blackcell, or simply by completing Challenges.
And obviously, some of these skins spark more debate than others. For example, many players do not like skins with animal themes or bright colors, which they consider detrimental to the immersion of the game.
Other skins are so beneficial that players call them “pay-to-win”, such as the Gaia (or ‘Groot’) skin, which was recently removed from the game for adjustment and balancing.
But in recent days, another skin has been targeted by critics, it is the Io skin from Season 4 of MW2 Blackcell.
MW3 players are mad about the Io skin in Ranked
While this skin has been called “pay-to-lose”in the past, there are now situations where the Io skin offers a considerable advantage, as shown in this footage from MW3 player qwertymnbvcxzlk.

Without a timely move, the player would not have known that an opponent was defusing the bomb, with the skin turning almost translucent and chrome during the action.
This caused a heated debate in the comments about how Ranked mode should handle cosmetics. Many agree that the selection of skins should be limited, or that players should have default skins in competitive mode.
Some players disagree, claiming they can “clearly see” the opponent on the bomb, while others discuss the value of having such “Fortnite-style” skins in the game.
