MW3 players criticize difficulty of unlocking useless launcher attachment

Numerous MW3 players are criticizing the latest RGL-80 Aftermarket Part, with some deeming it worthless and others alleging that it contains glitches.

The JAK-Thumper 556 is an innovative Aftermarket Part Conversion Kit designed for the RGL-80, enhancing its capabilities by allowing it to utilize various ammunition types including slug, sticky, and drill charge rounds. Additionally, the kit improves the grenade launcher’s bullet velocity.

To unlock it, you must complete five challenges from Week 4. These challenges mostly revolve around obtaining explosive kills using various equipment. As a result, there has been a significant rise in players utilizing launchers, explosive ammunition, and aerial Killstreaks in lobbies in order to unlock the new AMP. This has caused some frustration.

A Reddit user shared their struggle with unlocking the JAK-Thumper 556, describing it as a “mental crisis”. To make matters worse, another player added insult to injury by commenting, “Just wait until you try to unlock the AMP. All that effort will be for nothing.”

Many MW3 Reddit posts express discontent with the RGL-80’s Conversion Kit, with some users even alleging that it is “bugged”for them. One player reported being unable to equip it, while another shared a similar experience, stating, “I unlocked it but it won’t let me equip it!”

A user provided detailed insights on the overall deficiencies of the new AMP. While some users have not encountered any problems, others have expressed frustration with the Conversion Kit, labeling it as “terrible.”

Some players find pleasure in using the JAK-Thumper 556, particularly when equipped with slug rounds. They have expressed that while it may not be the most effective weapon, it is enjoyable and adds a playful element to gameplay.

The RGL-80’s power was not helped by the nerf it received on June 4, despite the introduction of the new AMP. With the start of Season 4 Reloaded, we can expect to see additional Weekly Challenges and potentially more unconventional Conversion Kits similar to this one.
