MW3 players demand the removal of an OP sniper that completely “ruins” a mode

If Modern Warfare 3 introduced a new game mode exclusive to snipers during season 2 to the delight of fans, some players believe that a particular weapon totally “spoils” the pleasure of the experience.

Modern Warfare 3 really has no shortage of weapons to choose from, with each update continuing to add more. Season 2 added a few more weapons, but despite the many choices available, players still tend to gravitate towards the best ones.

Regardless of CoD, snipers are generally among the best weapons, especially when TTK is high like in MW3.

But even within this category, there are always one or two weapons that manage to stand out. Notably, the Longbow is one of the most popular choices, so popular that players claim it completely ruins “Snipers Only” mode.

Reddit user ‘Twitchifies’ highlighted this point in the MW3 subreddit, calling on the developers to “remove the Longbow from Snipers only mode” .

The Longbow is a lightweight sniper rifle in MW3, and is perhaps the best sniper rifle for aggressive gameplay that allows for quickscopes.

Players feel that his aggressive and fast-paced playstyle is oppressively effective against other snipers, which is the main reason why they think he ruins Sniper Only mode.

“If you try to use a real sniper, you just get destroyed by people who shoot 5 times faster with a Longbow with a red dot sight.” says Twitchifies.

Many players share this same sentiment, with some arguing that this weapon shouldn’t even be in the sniper category: “I don’t know how the developers think the Longbow belongs in the sniper category in the first place. It’s more of a tactical rifle to be honest.”

Some have meanwhile suggested a quick solution: “The mode would be better with only rifle scopes allowed.”

While the removal of the Longbow from “Snipers Only” mode seems unlikely, a nerf to this weapon remains possible given the growing number of complaints about it.
