MW3 players express disappointment with lack of fan-favorite maps

MW3 has a plethora of multiplayer maps, but there are claims that the rotation has been negatively affected by the inclusion of variants and a lack of diversity.

Despite the addition of new maps through seasonal updates and having the full roster of MW2 2009 maps, there appears to be a lack of diversity in the rotation.

Despite selecting Quick Play, I frequently ponder why I haven’t played maps such as Karachi, Wasteland, and Derail in an extended period of time.

The introduction of variants such as Celship and Toonoxide has exacerbated the issue, effectively increasing the chances of these maps being selected in a pre-match vote.

According to Reddit user ‘Lew1989′, the available map vote options of Rust and Toonoxide have resulted in what they consider to be the “worst map vote”possible.

For me this is the worst map vote I can think of. Where’s the rest of the maps, I’m sure some I haven’t played in months byu/Lew1989 inModernWarfareIII

The player inquired about the availability of additional maps, stating that it had been months since they had played some of them. One comment suggested the return of the third “Random Map”option from previous Call of Duty games to avoid similar situations.

Another post reflects this same viewpoint, with user ‘Lumenprotoplasma’ stating that they believe the maps from MW2’s 2009 release, including “Wasteland,””Derail,”and “Estate,”have been taken out. The user notes that the only maps they have encountered are Scrapyard, Rust, and Afgan.

The players also argue that Quick Play has been transformed into the Small Map Moshpit playlist, as they are receiving a higher number of smaller maps compared to medium and large ones.

One comment stated that the lack of variety was “very annoying”and expressed a desire for a range of map sizes, including both large and small options. In a sarcastic tone, a MW3 player remarked that they were only receiving “17 versions of rust and shipment.”

It is uncertain if the developers have truly decreased the frequency of certain maps in rotation. Nevertheless, if they do address this matter, we will be sure to provide coverage. So, please stay tuned.

Regardless of the choice, gamers will have a relatively short wait before they can experience brand new maps in Black Ops 6.
