MW3 Players Express Disappointment with Paintball Mode Being a Hardcore Reskin

Players of Modern Warfare 3 will have access to a Paintball mode in Season 5 Reloaded, but they are uncertain about the level of distinction from Hardcore and whether a dedicated map will be included.

In paintball, the use of painted bullets results in colorful splatters on both enemies and the surrounding environment. Additionally, players are eliminated from the game after being hit just once, similar to the rules of the actual sport.

Despite the potential for a unique and enjoyable experience, some players are downplaying the appeal of participating in Hardpoint and Domination matches on a variety of maps, including cel-shaded versions. This may be due to the similarities with Hardcore mode, and there is a sense that an exclusive map could have been included to make it stand out more.

On Reddit, user ‘Comprehensive_Rice27′ pointed out the mode and expressed their desire for a “paintball map” similar to Rush from Black Ops 2 or Speedball from MW2019, which is also available in the Stadium on Warzone’s Vondel.

In the comments, the majority of people agreed with the original poster, and a few even criticized the mode for its intense use of paint.

One user asked, “Is it just Hardcore with a different skin?”Another user commented, “So it’s basically Hardcore with blue blood, haha.”

Many members of the community not only believe that an exclusive map would have set it apart from Hardcore, but they also think that adjusting the bullet velocity could have added a paintballing element to the mode.

“Will they limit the bullet velocity to around 100m/s? This aspect is what would differentiate the mode from just being “hardcore with paint.”

Some also highlighted the distinctions between Hardcore and Paintball, despite them both being game modes where players can be eliminated with one shot. They noted that Hardcore includes elements such as team kills, no mini-map, no HUD, and no crosshairs, which were not mentioned in the previous statement.

Once Season 5 Reloaded is released, we will be able to determine the similarities and differences between Paintball and Hardcore. The update will also introduce additional new content, such as another cel-shaded map variant and new weapons, before the final season.
