Despite an update aimed at improving map variety, MW3 players are still expressing frustration with the available map variants. As the cel-shaded version of Stash House is set to be released in Season 5 Reloaded, it is likely that these complaints will only increase.
Despite being introduced in Season 5, cel-shaded maps have not been well-received by players who have criticized the art style for hindering enemy visibility. Additionally, these map variants have received significant backlash for limiting the variety of maps available.
Despite an initial update to fix the issue, players are still facing problems with being able to choose between a map and its cel-shaded version, such as Rust and Tonoxide. This has caused concern among players, as they fear that the upcoming Ink House update may exacerbate the issue.
The upcoming Season 5 Reloaded will include a new variant of the popular Stash House map, featuring a cel-shaded design. This exciting addition was announced alongside several new game modes. Players will now have an additional opportunity to vote for either the original Stash House or the cel-shaded version, known as Ink House.
The problem is particularly noticeable in Small Map Mosh Pit, but it has also been reported in Quick Play, which is supposed to have a much larger selection of maps.
Despite a Reddit post highlighting the issue, players continued to express their frustrations with the addition of yet another cel-shaded map to the roster. One player exclaimed, “Oh my god, this just ruins the experience even more,”while another echoed, “Why do they continue to torture us with cell shading?”

Despite the overall negative response to Ink House’s announcement of cel-shaded maps, there are still a few individuals in the thread who have expressed positive opinions. One user stated, “I know it’s a controversial opinion, but I actually enjoy the cell-shaded maps. They make it easier for me to grind camos and I think they look great.”
Another individual expressed a comparable viewpoint, stating their appreciation for cel-shaded maps. However, they suggested that the developers should consider removing the original version of the variant map from the map pool to avoid overcrowding.
It remains to be seen if the Season 5 Reloaded patch will include any changes to the map variety. In response to previous complaints, the developers released an update, so it is possible that they will do something similar if they decide to make further updates.
Black Ops 6 will offer players a diverse selection of fresh maps to explore. By accessing the beta early, you can be among the first to experience them.
