MW3 & Warzone Altered Strain event end date & how to get free rewards

Season 4 Reloaded brings a plethora of themed events to MW3 and Warzone, providing players with numerous free rewards to earn. Among these is Altered Strain, which continues the DNA theme of Critical Countdown.

Therefore, all the information you require about the new mid-season event, including ways to obtain all the complimentary rewards, is provided here.

Start & end date

The Altered Strain event in MW3 and Warzone started on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 and will continue until Wednesday, July 24. This provides players with a four-week window to earn all of the available free rewards.

The Retro Warfare event, which also featured pixel-inspired elements and offered additional rewards, was released simultaneously with the event.

The Altered Strain event revolves around a DNA theme.

Earning rewards

The Altered Strain offers 19 cosmetic prizes that players can earn at no cost. To obtain them, you must acquire “altered DNA samples”from defeated enemies and Loot Caches in Warzone.

As of June 26, only one out of the four Mastery Challenges is fully accessible. This guide will be updated with any new challenges that are announced.

1. Double XP Token – Collect 390 Ade-OGT (blue) DNA samples
2. Double Weapon XP Token – Collect 780 Ade-OGT (blue) DNA samples
3. Double Battle Pass XP Token – Collect 1,560 Ade-OGT (blue) DNA samples
4. Double Weapon XP Token – Collect 3,125 Ade-OGT (blue) DNA samples
5. Double Weapon XP Token – Collect 5,250 Ade-OGT (blue) DNA samples
6. Double Battle Pass XP Token – Collect 12,500 Ade-OGT (blue) DNA samples

Mastery Challenge 2

1. First Strike Mutation Augmentation – Collect 780 Cyto-RCG (orange) DNA samples
2. Pet Strain Charm – Collect 1,560 Cyto-RCG (orange) DNA samples

Mastery reward

Be sure to rack up as many DNA samples as possible to fulfill the objectives and unlock the blueprint.

Upon completing all of the Masery Challenges, you will gain access to the Strands and Slaughter Weapon Blueprint for the SOA Subverter Battle Rifle.

Multiplayer Mutation Effects

The Altered Strain event will also bring augmentations with it, which will impact the Mutant powers in MW3’s multiplayer Mutation mode.
