Modern Warfare 3 players recently appealed to Sledgehammer Games in an effort to combat the scourge of AFKs.
Since its launch, Modern Warfare 3 has been under fire due to several issues affecting the gaming experience. Players have notably expressed their frustration with the wave of advertisements and the invasive presence of cheats.
But another emerging complaint concerns the battle pass rewards system, which is tied to time spent in-game. This method has been criticized, with players feeling that it limits access to rewards and undermines skill-based progression..
A post on Reddit recently shed light on the current state of Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer, with a clip showing the continued epidemic of AFK players who are solely focused on progressing their battle pass.

“That’s what happens when you condition access to content on playtime. I don’t blame someone who’s trying to get the battle pass items they paid for. It’s not fun for the players who actually participate, but at least it doesn’t cost you a victory like it might in other playlists,” one player explains in the comments.
This sentiment is shared by many others, who claim that the developers are to blame for this situation, especially with the current state of the battle pass and the need to go through it to unlock all the additional skins, weapons and accessories.
“They don’t want to fix this problem, it gives developers numbers to brag about while only affecting a small part of the community. Sorry. “It’s a small price to pay for more money,” argues another fan.
