The highly anticipated seventh season of My Hero Academia has finally premiered. Before diving in, here are five essential things to keep in mind.
The release of My Hero Academia Season 7 in Spring 2024 has been eagerly awaited by fans. The season opens with Star and Stripe and her military team arriving in Japan. Witnessing the chaos caused by Tomura Shigaraki, All For One, and their accomplices, she goes against orders to assist the heroes in their fight against the villains.
The instigator of this chaos, All For One, is currently hiding in a secret cave with Spinner. He has his sights set on stealing Star’s Quirk, believing it will aid in his quest for global supremacy. In the meantime, Endeavor, Hawks, and Best Jeanist make arrangements to meet with Star, but they soon learn that Shigaraki, accompanied by a flying Nomu, has already intercepted her.
During their confrontation, Star unveils her Quirk, “New Order,”which grants her the ability to alter the rules of anything or anyone she touches. She also shares how All Might served as her inspiration. With the premiere of My Hero Academia Season 7, here are the top five things you should be aware of.
The Story Gets Darker in This Season
If you believe you have already witnessed the peak of My Hero Academia, think again. The plot, already gripping, will only intensify in Season 7 as the devastating Paranormal Liberation War has greatly decreased the amount of Pro Heroes.
Despite finally having a moment of success with Star and Stripe, it is short-lived. Luckily, top heroes Endeavor, Hawks, and Best Jeanist are prepared to confront the incoming dangers. Nevertheless, the villains will not give up without a fight.
4. Recap Specials Available Before Season 7 of My Hero Academia
In preparation for Season 7, My Hero Academia released four special recap episodes in early 2024. These episodes caught up viewers on the emotional journeys of Deku and the other heroes from the past six seasons of the anime. Airing on April 6, 13, 20, and 27 in Japan, these specials focused on the highlights of the previous seasons. However, they also included new scenes in addition to compiled footage.
The latest updates center around Shigaraki, who believes that his inner turmoil will never cease as long as All Might remains in people’s memories. While Deku and Shigaraki will continue to be the main focus in season seven, fresh faces such as Star and Stripe will also play crucial roles in the battle for the future of Hero Society.
3. Three Manga Arcs Being Adapted in Season 7 of My Hero Academia
The upcoming season will consist of the Star and Stripe Arc (chapters 329–334), the U.A. Traitor Arc (chapters 335–342), and the ongoing Final War Arc. The first arc will feature the arrival of Star and Stripe, who will confront Shigaraki directly. However, if All For One is successful in his plan to steal her quirk, it could spell trouble.
Additionally, the U.A. Traitor Arc uncovers a shocking moment where a member of the U.A. community betrays their fellow students and staff. Despite their shorter lengths, both of these arcs are significant, and the upcoming season will also introduce the Final War Arc.
The Influence of Vestiges
The Legacy of One For All has produced some of the most renowned heroes in history, greatly impacting both those who fight for justice and those who seek to do harm. As their influence continues to shape the ongoing conflict, it sheds light on the intricate dynamics of Quirk inheritance. As My Hero Academia Season 7 approaches its conclusion, audiences can anticipate a more in-depth examination of the show’s diverse cast and thought-provoking themes. As new revelations come to light, the tension builds, building towards an intense and climactic finale.
1. The U.A. Traitor Reveal Was Already Foreshadowed
The faculty at U.A. High School discussed the potential presence of a traitor following the League of Villains’ assault on the U.S.J. Although the students of Class 1-A were scheduled to proceed with their usual hero training, the invasion of such a highly secured institution caught everyone off guard.
The villains’ target was All Might, who was scheduled to teach on the same day but unexpectedly altered his plans. This demonstrated that the villains had extensive knowledge of the class schedule in order to carry out their scheme. Season 7 will reveal that the traitor had been in close proximity to the group all along.
No global release date has been announced yet, but keep an eye out for updates.
