In season 7, episode 4 of My Hero Academia, titled “The Story of How We All Became Heroes,”the remaining part of chapter 338 and chapters 339 and 340 were adapted. The episode began with a brief teaser of Aoyama’s true identity as a traitor to U.A. High.

The episode began with Mike questioning Class 1-A’s trust in Aoyama. Iida confidently stated that despite what had happened in the past, they still had full faith in their classmate. Kirishima also expressed his unwavering support, and the chapter then shifted to the anime-original moment when Class 1-A rescued Deku.

During the heated argument, Aizawa joined the group via a call. While in the manga he joined through Mike’s tablet, in the anime he appeared on a large screen, a positive deviation in the adaptation. Aizawa reassured them that he had no intention of expelling Aoyama and expressed his readiness to utilize his knowledge of All for One in the ultimate showdown against the antagonists.

Aizawa insisted that Aoyama and his family’s ears be covered as he intended to divulge a plan to outsmart the villains. Once the plan was revealed, Aoyama was escorted to a different cell while Midoriya called out to him.

Upon returning to their dorms in My Hero Academia season 7 episode 4, the heroes voiced apprehension about the impending battle against the villains. To prepare, Midoriya and Iida sought out Hatsume to make adjustments to their hero costumes.

As they arrived at the entrance of the Development Studio, Deku found himself caught in an explosion, reminiscent of the one that occurred during his initial encounter with Hatsume in My Hero Academia season 1. Midoriya’s main goal was to have his gauntlet, a unique device featured in My Hero Academia Movie 1, fixed, further solidifying the movies’ canonicity.

Despite the heroes needing a replacement immediately, Hatsume refused help as she was pressed for time working on her project. As she presented her new project, Hatsume’s subordinates offered to mend Iida and Deku’s costumes, taking into account her busy schedule.

Suddenly, Hatsume tossed a fresh gauntlet and costume at Midoriya and Iida, motivating them to give their best and emerge victorious. Meanwhile, in the Kansai region, Lemillion’s team was engaged in a battle against some villains.

The Central Hospital and the Plan of All Might

In episode 4 of My Hero Academia season 7, the focus shifted to the central hospital where All Might had convened a meeting with police officials and Ragdoll, the original possessor of the ‘search quirk’ before it was stolen by All for One. During the meeting, All Might disclosed his strategy for countering TomurAFO and the Paranormal Liberation Front.

The intention was to ensure that each villain remained distinct, and the way this was conveyed visually was largely improvised but executed excellently. Additional frames were also incorporated to illustrate the impact of All for One.

Aizawa and Aoyama’s Friendship

The heroes were relieved when Aoyama’s test results showed no signs of his body exploding, as they wanted to ensure his safety before he revealed information about All for One. As they continued their conversation, Aizawa encouraged Aoyama to overcome his fear and fight against All for One. This precaution was necessary, as seen from Lady Nagant’s experience in the previous season.

In episode 4 of season 7 of My Hero Academia, new visuals were introduced that depicted Aoyama being haunted by All for One. Rather than using a bomb, All for One instilled fear in the boy himself.

Aizawa was ultimately able to convince Aoyama to join the fight, but Aoyama expressed doubts about his abilities as a lowly criminal in such dangerous circumstances. However, Aoyama was reassured by his classmates that they would protect him no matter what and he need not worry about his parents.

A fresh visual for Class 1-A was revealed, adding yet another anime-original element to the story. Aoyama was moved to tears during the climax of the episode. Additionally, a teaser for Shisou’s return was included after the ending credits of My Hero Academia season 7 episode 4.
