The chapter opens with Aoyama lagging behind Deku while AFO deploys his tentacles to demolish a section of the ground. In response to the dire circumstances, Aizawa requests that Shirakumo create a second portal, but he is unable to use his quirk due to exhaustion.

Meanwhile, the heroes continued their relentless assault on All For One, creating a distraction for Deku to make his way towards the villain. In the midst of their battle, AFO readied another “full release”attack, but this time he was confident that he would succeed, having regained control over his emotions. Despite his powerful laser aimed towards Deku, Hagakure was able to intercept and block it.

Immediately after, the leaked spoilers for My Hero Academia chapter 422 revealed Yaoyorozu’s creation of a railgun, which Kaminari powered up with his electricity. However, AFO managed to block the attack. Following this, AFO unleashed his black tentacles to strike at Deku, prompting other heroes to come to his aid and advise him not to use up his energy just yet. Without delay, Shoji and Tsuyu grabbed hold of Deku and propelled him forward.

As Deku charged forward, Kirishima and Ashido bravely protected him from another powerful attack by AFO. These moments caused AFO to question why he was unable to defeat the seemingly frail heroes.
