At the beginning of My Hero Academia chapter 422, Yuga Aoyama was abruptly separated from Deku when All For One launched an attack. Despite the danger, Aoyama urged Deku to continue running while Shota Aizawa sought assistance from Kurogiri, also known as Oboro Shirakumo, in creating a portal. However, upon seeing Shirakumo, Aizawa quickly realized that he had lost the ability to summon portals.

As Deku utilized Full Cowling, he could be seen darting across the battlefield with All For One’s formidable new form wreaking havoc in every direction. Meanwhile, various students and Pro Heroes were shown acknowledging the seemingly hopeless situation. Aizawa urged them all to create a path towards Tomura Shigaraki’s body, currently under the control of All For One.

In My Hero Academia chapter 422, All For One clarifies that his Full Factor Release form is not fueled by his emotions. He reveals that he is able to suppress and manipulate multiple Quirks at once while in this form, and emphasizes that having an army is not the sole determinant of victory. In a surprise attack, All For One fires a laser that is intercepted by Toru Hagakure, while Momo Yaoyorozu and Denki Kaminari use a railgun created by Momo’s Quirk to strike back.

Despite Deku’s attempts, All For One blocks his attack and counters with a powerful strike. In response, Rikido Sato, Hanta Sero, Koji Koda, Mashirao Ojiro, Ibara Shiozaki, Jurota Shishida, and Sen Kaibara step in to protect him, urging him to conserve his energy. With the help of Mezo Shoji and Tsuyu Asui, Deku is propelled towards All For One as his family and a girl he once saved cheer them on.

In My Hero Academia chapter 422, Fat Gum, Eijiro Kirishima, and Mina Ashido are shown blocking another attack from All For One, allowing Deku to continue his advance. All For One expresses confusion as to why these barely conscious heroes refuse to give up, noting the determination in their eyes despite their physical limitations.

Reflecting on his conversation with Deku about his perceived weakness and worthlessness, All For One comes to the realization that this trait is something All Might never possessed. At that moment, Gentle Criminal provides Deku with a trampoline and Death Arms encourages him to give his all. Meanwhile, on a separate battleground, Fumikage Tokoyami also urges Deku to do his best. All For One recognizes that Deku’s perceived weakness actually gives him a unique strength, allowing his allies to persist and rise again.

My Hero Academia Chapter 422: Weakness Becomes Strength

As All For One speaks, chapter 422 of My Hero Academia shows Tenya Iida grabbing Deku’s hands while All For One attempts to shoot a power from his hand. However, the wound in his hand begins to bleed as he realizes that as long as Deku keeps moving, they will also be affected. The focus then turns to All Might, who is being cared for by the US pilots. They express their gratitude for the addition of ejection seats to their jets.

All Might replies that the children desire a flawless triumph, noting that minimizing losses is ideal. They query his authority to make such a statement as All Might raises his hand towards the sky, recalling the day he met Deku and how his sudden rush allowed his body to move. He goes on to express that since that day, Deku has held a special place in his heart, while scenes of Melissa Shield and Rody Soul encouraging Deku to give his all are shown.

In My Hero Academia chapter 422, Iida recalls a significant moment from their first day at U.A. High School where Ochaco Uraraka shared her thoughts on the name Deku. As Deku is reminded of this, Uraraka is shown being transported to a hospital, seemingly thinking about the same thing. With a smile, she encourages Deku to give his all.

As the United States president gives the order to send all of their Pro Heroes to Japan immediately despite the danger, Deku is seen preparing to deliver his final blow. Shoto Todoroki can be heard crying out for Deku to give it his all, while Deku himself is able to hear the voices of everyone cheering him on.

Eri, Tsukauchi, Kota, Gran Torino, and many other characters can be seen encouraging Deku to give his all, while All Might stretches his hand towards the sky and envisions Deku running. He confesses that Deku is his ultimate hero, while Inko Midoriya watches and also urges her son to do his best. The episode concludes with the title “Izuku Midoriya: Rising”appearing as Deku lands what is likely the decisive strike against All For One.

In summation of My Hero Academia chapter 422

My Hero Academia chapter 422 is a significant and deeply satisfying addition to the series, encompassing both emotional fulfillment and rewarding moments. As Deku’s own “Rising”chapter, it perfectly represents his growth and the experiences that shaped him into the hero he has become.

The problem also effectively demonstrates that Deku has successfully accomplished his own objectives, as evidenced by his mentor All Might referring to him as his own inspiration. It is also heartwarming that All Might attributes Deku’s initial, Quirkless action of embarking on this journey as the reason for considering him his ultimate hero, further highlighting Deku’s heroic nature.
