For a while now, there has been much speculation surrounding the state of Deku’s Quirk. However, in My Hero Academia Chapter 430, this speculation has finally been put to rest and the truth has been revealed.
After a decade-long journey, My Hero Academia comes to a close with Chapter 430. The manga’s last installment shows the adult versions of the main characters, following an eight-year time skip.
The chapter begins with Deku, who is now a teacher at U.A. It is revealed that he no longer possesses One For All, as the final remnants of the Quirk had disappeared a long time ago. This means that he is once again Quirkless, just as he was at the start of his hero journey.
It’s a devastating conclusion for him, particularly considering that we discover the remaining Class 1-A students have all achieved the status of Pro Heroes. Not only that, their busy schedules make it difficult for them to stay in touch and meet up often.
Despite Deku’s confirmed loss of his Quirk in Chapter 421, which was a plausible scenario, it is still heart-wrenching. After everything he had endured, no one could have predicted that he would end up Quirkless.

Fortunately, our beloved nerd does not have to face only negativity. In the concluding moments of My Hero Academia Chapter 430, Deku achieves his long-held aspiration of becoming a Pro Hero with the help of the suit bestowed upon him by All Might.
The beginning of his hero academia echoes his story: starting with All Might’s talented Quirk, he now fulfills his dream with another gift from his idol.
