The beginning of My Hero Academia Chapter 430 features Deku and Tomura’s reflections on their experiences during the war. Deku echoes the opening narration from the first chapter, but with a few alterations. He emphasizes that people are not all born equal and possess unique forms and shapes, yet they still hold compassion for one another. These differences, both internal and external, drive us to connect with others and strive for a common ground.

Kota enters the teacher’s room and greets Deku by calling him “Big brother Mido…Deku Sensei”. He then proceeds to inquire about the location for the afternoon class gathering. As he walks in, he notices Deku dressed in a suit and diligently taking notes in his notebook.

At 17 years old, I learned the truth about society. On that day, I listened to the voices of everyone around me, and it continues to inspire me to this day. If being a hero starts with caring for others, then on that day, each and every person was a true hero.

Numerous panels display various scenes, including Deku’s joyful reunion with his mother upon returning home. All Might can also be seen assisting Gran Torino in his walk, students taking exams, and participating in the sports festival. Additionally, Miriko is shown testing out new prosthetics while Mt Lady and Kamui collaborate together. Shoji and Koda are depicted shaking hands with a heteromorphic scientist.

The illustrations feature a variety of scenes, including Tokoyami and Hawks engaged in conversation, Aizawa and Present Mic in a cemetery, Kota and Eri holding hands with Mandalay looking on proudly, Endeavor with his sidekicks, students meeting Melissa, the book of the League of Villains being sold, Bakugou in rehabilitation, and Deku and Ochako sharing a moment in the snow, wrapped in scarves. Compress can also be seen reading the book in one of the illustrations.

Deku’s narration persists as he reflects on how he achieved a seemingly impossible dream. He recounts the end of his ability to move without thinking, as well as the fading embers of the One for All. The narration is accompanied by a panel depicting the dwindling embers.

Later on, we witness the graduation ceremony where Bakugou and Monoma carry out the U.A tradition by blowing up the stage, following Iida’s speech. The narration then continues with the words, “Do you wonder why I am still writing? It’s because there are still a few pages left to fill.”

We observe Dai’s classroom as the teacher inquires about the students’ aspirations. One of them responds with a desire to become a hero, while another expresses interest in working in Hatsume’s lab. A third student shares their dream of becoming a doctor like Dr. Yoshida, while a fourth hopes to join La Brava’s company.

One of the students observes that Dai aspires to become a hero. He informs Dai that his quirk may not be enough to achieve his goal. He explains that due to the limited number of villains, the number of heroes has reached a stable point. As a result, only the most powerful children will have the opportunity to become heroes.

This discussion greatly affects him as he expresses how the people have changed since he was a child. In the past, everyone aspired to be like All Might, Deku, Endeavor, Jeanist, or Dynamight. However, he now feels like the only one who still struggles with immaturity and self-doubt. This is why he makes a point to visit All Might’s statue.

Cut to Others

The manga continues by depicting Shoji as the recipient of the Imamura Award in recognition of his successful efforts in peacefully resolving prejudice-based incidents. In his acceptance speech, he gives credit to the heteromorphs who bravely marched to the hospital eight years prior, stating that he believes their determination is the reason he is still alive and able to receive this award.

As we witness the visits of the Ingenium, Creati, Froppy, and Uravity teams to schools across the nation, we also learn about Uraraka’s pivotal contribution to society through her development of the quirk counseling expansion project. The story then shifts to Eri and her friends from the music club.

Aizawa presents Deku with a video of Bakugou angrily confronting a civilian who was filming him up close. Deku was certain that this incident would cause Bakugou’s ranking to drop, allowing Todoroki to surpass him. Meanwhile, Todoroki spends his days diligently patrolling and treating his fans with kindness, and has shed his reputation as “Endeavor’s son.”Deku expresses his belief that he could potentially surpass Mt. Lady, Kamui, and even Mirio in the rankings, and also shares his thoughts on Monoma and Honenuki’s rankings.

Aizawa inquires about Deku’s feelings of loneliness. In response, he recalls the conversation he had with Fuwa and Aizawa (Chapter 425) and reveals that he realized he could still make a difference and aid others without relying on his quirk. He considers this to be a admirable way of living and inquires if Aizawa shares the same belief.

Aizawa advises Deku to be tougher on his students, as many of them entering U.A hold the belief that they are destined to become heroes. It is crucial to maintain strictness to prevent them from becoming overly confident. Deku mentions that after graduation, he rarely has the opportunity to see his friends as their schedules do not align.

As he makes his way home, he notices official Tokoyami merchandise and Kirishima being featured on television. Suddenly, a group of children runs by, shouting “Unbreakable”. One of the children trips, and Deku quickly moves forward to catch them. However, Dai also tries to help but ends up stumbling as well.

Dai notices Deku and confides in him about his own doubts, revealing that he often seeks solace at All Might’s statue when feeling low. He then asks Deku if he also wonders whether he has what it takes to become a successful hero like All Might and himself. This triggers a memory for Deku of when he sought advice from All Might and began to analyze his abilities in his typical analytical fashion.

Despite being taken aback, Dai soon realizes that Deku is actually helping him. “Now it’s my turn to give people dreams,”Deku declares, assuring Dai that he will be okay because he also rushed to save the child. Deku encourages Dai, telling him that he has the potential to become a hero. As they look around, they notice that All Might’s statue is not the only one there. In fact, there are now statues of people cheering for him as well.

Deku urges Dai to always give his best effort. Despite feeling a bit sad, he knows that he can still inspire others in the same way. This is how we all became the greatest heroes.

The action didn’t end there, as All Might suddenly appeared and shattered “The End”with his own hands, causing everyone to laugh. He apologized for the delay, but Deku reassured him that it was no problem. He jokingly mentioned that All Might could have just met him at the airport, but All Might explained that he wanted to surprise him. He then revealed that the data from their fight against All for One eight years ago had sparked new possibilities. Holding his briefcase, All Might remarked that technology was constantly evolving, much like quirks.

Deku remarks on the expensive nature of the contents of the briefcase. However, All Might clarifies that it was created by his American friends and Hatsume, and funded by Class A alumni, with Bakugou specifically mentioned. He then passes it to Deku, acknowledging that he rightfully earned this power.

Bakugou yells for Deku to join him, urgently requesting his presence. As Hawks goes about his work, he receives news of a landslide on a nearby highway and enlists the help of some heroes to address it. With the help of his support item, Deku leaps into action and catches a glimpse of Shigaraki’s apparition below. The concluding double spread of MHA Chapter 430 showcases the Class A students as fully grown adults, donning their hero outfits.

“This is the tale of our ongoing efforts to extend our reach.”
