Both the titles ‘Origin’ and ‘Rising’ hold significance in the My Hero Academia chapters. The ‘Origin’ chapters specifically reveal the backstories of certain characters, shedding light on what influenced their decision to become heroes or villains rather than simply explaining how they came to be.

Shigaraki Tomura was one of four characters to receive ‘Origin’ chapters for My Hero Academia, alongside Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, and Katsuki Bakugo. However, he received three chapters, while the others only received one each.

The titles of the ‘Rising’ chapters in My Hero Academia represent the moments when a character rises above their flaws or weaknesses, accepting them and striving to overcome them. These chapters depict characters stepping up to the challenge when the situation demands it.

The ‘Rising’ My Hero Academia chapters were received by four characters: Momo Yaoyorozu, Katsuki Bakugo, Shoto Todoroki, and Izuku Midoriya.

It can be seen that the ‘Origin’ My Hero Academia chapters were given to the Class 1A trio of Midoriya, Shoto, and Katsuki.

The first chapter of the series, ‘Origin’, featured Izuku Midoriya’s heroic actions as he rescued his friend Katsuki Bakugo from a villain. This pivotal moment caught the attention of the No. 1 Hero, All Might, who ultimately chose Deku as his successor.

During the Sports Festival, Shoto Todoroki’s ‘Origin’ chapter was chapter 39. Despite always refusing to use the quirk he inherited from his father, Shoto finally embraced it as his own in his ‘Origin’ chapter.

Finally, in chapter 62 of the final exams, Katsuko Bakugo’s ‘Origin’ chapter was featured. In this chapter, Bakugo and Deku were supposed to join forces and battle All Might together. However, Bakugo was unwavering in his refusal to team up with Deku and insisted on losing instead. Fortunately, Deku was able to remind Bakugo of his previous aspirations and desire to become a hero. As a result, the two heroes united and faced All Might together.

Why does Tomura Shigaraki’s storyline have three ‘Origin’ chapters?

The reason for Shigaraki Tomura having three ‘Origin’ chapters is due to the fact that two of them detail his past identity as Tenko Shimura, while the third focuses on his current identity as Tomura Shigaraki. Unlike the ‘Origin’ chapters of other characters, Tenko Shimura’s story was quite lengthy, spanning across two chapters – 235 and 236. These were then succeeded by chapter 237, which delves into the ‘Origin’ of Shigaraki Tomura.

Despite being the grandson of Nana Shimura, the seventh user of One For All, Tenko Shimura’s father Kotaro held a deep-seated hatred for heroes. This animosity stemmed from Kotaro’s abandonment by his mother, who was forced to confront All For One and left him behind. This resentment was then passed down to Tenko.

In the Shimura household, a rule had been established by the father that prohibited any discussion of heroes. As a result, whenever Tenko, his son, engaged in pretending to be a hero or brought up the topic, his father would scold him.

Prior to this moment, Tenko had no knowledge of his grandmother’s heroic past. It was only when his older sister Hana showed him a photograph in their father’s study that he became aware of it. This angered Kotaro, who then punished Tenko. This event caused Tenko to harbor resentment towards his family, leading to the activation of his quirk Decay. As a result, Tenko ended up unintentionally killing his entire family.

Despite being abandoned without anyone to care for him, Tenko was taken in by All For One and given a new identity as Shigaraki Tomura. He was granted full control over his quirk and from then on, Tenko Shimura became Shigaraki Tomura, embarking on his path as a villain.
