Kohei Horikoshi, the creator of the popular Shonen manga My Hero Academia, “participates”in a fan art competition with a stunning Ochako piece.
The ten-year-long journey of My Hero Academia came to an end in August 2024. This manga and superhero anime takes place in a world where 80% of the population possesses unique abilities known as Quirks. It follows the journey of aspiring heroes who aim to protect society from villains and maintain safety.
After a couple of weeks since the manga finale, Kohei Horikoshi, the creator, expressed his adoration for Ochako Uraraka, one of the main protagonists in MHA. The franchise announced a fan art competition and Horikoshi revealed a unique sketch of Ochako.
She attended U.A. High School as a student in Class 1-A, working towards her goal of becoming a Hero. After eight years, she and her fellow classmates become beloved heroes in Japan following the war.

Although the post is written in Japanese, it has led to speculation among fans that Horikoshi will be participating in the competition. However, the truth is that he is simply submitting new art for the occasion and showing his love for the fan-favorite hero as part of the new contest.
A fan notes, “It is evident that Ochako is one of Horikoshi’s favorite characters, as he draws her with such cuteness and skill.”
“Another person jokingly remarks, “You’re a true gambler, Mr. Horikoshi! This fan art is stunning and I hope the author of My Hero Academia will take notice.”
According to another fan, the hashtag translates to something like “fan art that supports you”and the accompanying message reads, “Today is the deadline! Here’s an Ochako as a token of appreciation!”
