Recently, a leak of My Hero Academia chapter 425 revealed the current situations of various characters and their storylines. Interestingly, a new character was also introduced, sparking speculation that it could be Tomura Shigaraki. Although it seems unlikely for him to reappear in the story, this individual bore a striking resemblance to him.
The My Hero Academia manga revealed Shigaraki’s body being possessed by All For One and ultimately destroyed during the final battle. In the vestige world, he perished alongside the former One For All users as they defeated the malevolent overlord. While there is limited evidence to support Shigaraki’s potential return, the resemblance and subtle hints in certain panels undeniably link to his character.

Discussion on the Identity of a Possible New Character in My Hero Academia
Despite the various significant events that took place in Chapter 425, such as Mirio Togata and his friends’ graduation, Aoyama’s departure from UA, and a cliffhanger involving Endeavor, it was the introduction of a character bearing a striking resemblance to Tomura Shigaraki that captured the attention of most readers.
Despite Shigaraki’s death in the final battle against All For One, there are still similarities in appearance and design present in this character. It seems unlikely for author Kohei Horikoshi to introduce a new character during the series’ epilogue.
“That’s definitely Spinner with no scales,”someone said.
“I really don’t think it is him, maybe it’s someone who had something similar happen to him and in the same situation tenko was in but this time he won’t get ignored,”another person said.
“It’s either Tenko reborn SOMEHOW. Or the appearance is purely symbolic and this is a new character,”another person pointed out.
According to a popular theory, All For One revealed in recent chapters that Shigaraki, also known as Tenko Shimura, possessed a Quirk similar to Overhaul’s, allowing him to both destroy and reconstruct. This leads to the belief that Shigaraki took control of his dying body and reconstructed himself.
“Reconstruction Quirk Theory is getting stronger now,”someone else said.
“If it is shigaraki or tenko, I’m getting strong fealings that then the machine in front of endeavor is restoring dabi and toga is alive somehow,”another person said.
The Consequences of Shigaraki Still Being Alive
The idea of Tomura Shigaraki surviving All For One’s disintegration of his body could spark a lot of conflicting views. It may be difficult for readers to believe that Shigaraki, also known as Tenko Shimura, could have survived the event and requires a considerable suspension of disbelief.
Despite facing criticism for its lack of character deaths and attempts to redeem undeserving villains, My Hero Academia’s portrayal of Shigaraki’s downfall showcases his unwavering loyalty to his comrades, including Spinner. While some may argue that the ending felt rushed, it solidifies Shigaraki’s character as a villain who remained true to his friendships.
“If true, it defeats everything that happened,”someone said.
“Toga using Shigaraki’s blood? Cause it seems like it’s her house, no?”another person said.
“Bro cmon thats Overhaul. He never got caught. and decay was based on his quirk,”someone else said.
