On October 12, 2024, it was officially revealed during a special announcement that the final season of the My Hero Academia anime will make its debut in 2025. This exciting news was showcased through a captivating teaser visual included in a trailer published on TOHO Animation’s official YouTube channel.

The recently aired seventh season covered the crucial U.A. Traitor Arc along with a substantial portion of the Final War Arc from the original manga. The impending final season is expected to cover the remaining narrative, culminating in the intense showdown between the heroes and villains.

The announcement about the next season being the last came during the finale of My Hero Academia’s seventh season on October 12, 2024. Viewers were treated to a teaser trailer that highlighted the series’ thrilling visual motifs.

Mark your calendars, as the final season of My Hero Academia is set to premiere in 2025.

The teaser trailer featured protagonist Deku declaring:

“This is the story of how we became the greatest heroes.”

This announcement was complemented by a stunning visual featuring Izuku Midoriya (Deku), illustrated by character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi.

Additionally, the teaser trailer highlighted the returning production team, featuring Chief Director Kenji Nagasaki, Director Naomi Nakayama, Script Supervisor Yosuke Kuroda, and composer Yuki Hayashi. Yoshihiko Umakoshi will return to work on the anime alongside Hitomi Odashima.

With the introduction of this final season, My Hero Academia will achieve a total of eight seasons. This concluding season will adapt the final chapters from the manga, showcasing the epic confrontations between Deku and Tomura Shigaraki, as well as All Might facing off against All For One.

The recently concluded seventh season wrapped up major character arcs involving Toya Todoroki and Himiko Toga. Toya’s narrative ended with Shoto preventing his older brother’s destructive path, while Himiko’s story resolved with her saving Ochaco from impending doom.
