My Hero Academia Final Volume Loaded with Extras, But Fans Desire One Key Feature

My Hero Academia may have reached its conclusion, but the journey isn’t entirely over. Fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming final volume, along with a shared hope for a particular development.

The series came to a sentimental close in August, bidding farewell to Deku and Class 1-A. Since then, enthusiasts have shifted their attention primarily to the anime adaptation, including the latest film release, My Hero Academia: You’re Next, which premiered this year.

Exciting news has surfaced regarding My Hero Academia Volume 42, set to hit shelves on December 4, 2024. This volume promises an impressive addition of 60 pages filled with additional content. Among the anticipated features, fans are particularly vocal about one specific desire that remains unfulfilled.

There is a strong desire for creator Kohei Horikoshi to officially validate the long-teased relationship between Deku and Uraraka, which has been hinted at multiple times but has yet to be firmly established in the narrative.

“There are many aspects I hope Hori will elaborate on, but ultimately, there’s one thing that needs to happen: let’s finally settle this debate,”expressed a fan on X/Twitter, accompanied by a gif of the beloved characters.

Another user chimed in, “Horikoshi, if you don’t make this ship official, I’ll be truly disappointed.” A third supporter added, “If Uraraka and Midoriya become confirmed as a couple, you’ll have my eternal gratitude, Horikoshi.”

However, opinions remain divided, as there are two noteworthy pairings fans are rooting for. While Uraraka and Deku are one possibility, the other contender is Uraraka and Himiko Toga. Social media has seen edits of recent official artwork altering Toga’s hand-holding with Uraraka to display the former with Deku instead.

“So, you agree?? That Togachako has a romantic angle? Good to see,”remarked a fan, suggesting the edited art’s implications. Another quickly critiqued, “What a selective crop to promote your hetero agenda,”in response to the edited visuals.

Kohei has previously illustrated moments involving Deku and Uraraka together, indicating that he might not favor one ship over the other. Unfortunately, it seems likely that the connections between both relationships may not receive the spotlight they deserve – but fans will have to wait until December to see how it unfolds.
