The most recent installment of My Hero Academia, released on August 4th, marks the conclusion of a significant era. Chapter 430 of MHA serves as a prologue to the story, providing insight into the characters’ lives 8 years after the major war. While certain changes were anticipated, others that were unforeseen are bound to surprise and astonish fans.
The previous chapter, 429, concluded with a touching scene as the students of class 1A gathered around Ochako to offer their support. It was during this moment that Deku shared the news of losing his one-for-all power, and they all shared a heartfelt moment together. In chapter 430, we will see how this event ties in and where our young heroes have ended up after 8 years.
Final Recap
The chapter opens with Deku reflecting on his heroism and journey. It is soon revealed that Deku has become a teacher at UA due to losing his one-for-all power, which now resides within him as a faint spark.
The Pro Heroes
We discover that many of Midoriya’s fellow students have become well-known Pro-heroes, with some reaching the same level of fame as Jeanist and Hawks.
The Pro-heroes Ochako, Tsuyu, Yaoyorozu, and Iida are currently on a nationwide tour of elementary schools.
Ochako’s plan to offer quirk counseling for children came into action at a time when the world’s villain rate was steadily decreasing, resulting in a decreased demand for heroes.
The decrease in the amount of villains is only temporary. To create a lasting impact, it is crucial for children to learn how to properly use their quirks, as this directly affects the number of villains in the area. This is the main objective of Uravity and her foundation.
Despite his status as a hero, Bakugo is not as popular as some of his peers. Aizawa disclosed to Deku that Bakugo has a tendency to handle his fans in a harsh and brash manner, while also noting the increasing popularity of Todoroki.
Despite the opinions of other pro heroes, Shoji has been recognized with a Peace Prize for his exceptional contributions since joining the ranks of professionals. His efforts have played a significant role in decreasing discrimination against Heteromorphs.
It was previously noted that Togata had risen in the rankings, surpassing both Mt Lady and Kamui Woods. He certainly lived up to Sir Nighteye’s foresight by becoming one of the top heroes in the field.
Tokoyami and Kirishima have become extremely popular among boys due to their gallant and masculine personalities.
Does Deku Miss Being a Hero?
Aizawa brings up their former classmates and inquires if Deku ever longs for the hero work. Instead of answering directly, Deku mentions that even though he is now highly regarded as a hero who played a major role in saving their world, he still hopes to use his past experiences to inspire and educate the younger generation. He finds it fulfilling and meaningful.
Nevertheless, he does eventually reveal his sorrow regarding the decrease in time spent with his friends due to their work commitments. During this time, Deku encounters a middle school student who immediately recognizes him. The two engage in a brief conversation.
Upon being asked by the boy if he could still become a hero despite his seemingly insignificant quirk, Deku responds with a smile and words of encouragement. It is at this moment that he confesses to the boy that he had actually longed to be a hero again.
Despite the fact that some children from class 1A were not included, it is highly likely that the majority of them would have ended up ranked as professional heroes, each of them dedicated to making the world a better place.
Is This The End For Deku As A Hero?
Just before the manga’s conclusion, All Might makes a sudden stop and surprises Deku with something. It turns out that technology has advanced just as much as quirks have over the years. All Might then unveils a new device created by Hatsume, with assistance from Bakugo and their friends, that will allow Deku to spring into action once again.
All Might reminds Deku that he has rightfully earned this opportunity, mirroring his own acquisition of One-For-All. We witness a joyous Midoriya, eager to resume his beloved profession. Thus concludes the story of these young heroes’ rise to greatness.
