In the most recent chapter, viewers were surprised to see the reappearance of a character – AFO – whom they least expected. This was met with disapproval from a large portion of the fanbase as he had somehow managed to return after his physical body’s demise. However, Deku was able to make some progress towards his goal and even had an impact on Shigaraki’s emotions.

As a result, Shigaraki suffered severe psychological damage, ultimately leading to the takeover of his body by AFO’s vestige. In the dream world, AFO continued to verbally attack both Shigaraki and Deku. AFO belittled Shigaraki for his perceived weakness and lack of agency, claiming that every move he made was orchestrated by AFO. Meanwhile, AFO directed his anger towards Deku for interfering with his plans to obtain the One For All quirk.

After exiting the dreamscape, Deku found himself without arms. Additionally, AFO had possessed Shigaraki’s body and proclaimed him deceased.

Despite suffering from significant psychological damage, Shigaraki did not pass away. This resulted in his vestige becoming extremely feeble, allowing AFO’s vestige to assume control of Shigaraki’s body.

Fans were eager to learn more about Shigaraki, which was the reason why. The statement from AFO that he was deceased appeared to have caused confusion among fans. Nevertheless, it is improbable that Shigaraki is truly deceased as his vestige displayed indications of desperation.

The quietness that followed his exchange with AFO did not indicate his demise. It is our belief that Shigaraki’s vestige remains intact, thus confirming his survival. However, we advise the fanbase to patiently wait for future chapters to validate this claim.

The spoilers for chapter 420 have been revealed, indicating that Shigaraki will not have a significant presence. As a result, fans will have to wait for future chapters to confirm this.
