My Hero Academia season 7 episode 15: Spinner awakens Kurogiri as Shoji stops the heteromorph riot
The 15th episode of My Hero Academia’s 7th season opens with Spinner taking charge and leading the heteromorph rioters to the hospital in order to rescue Kurogiri. In a flashback, it is revealed that AFO had given Spinner a recorder with the voices of both himself and Shigaraki, with the instructions to use it to awaken Kurogiri. As the rioters make their way to the hospital, they witness the hospital staff bravely protecting the patients.
Upon witnessing this, their minds are drawn back to Shoji’s previous words, leading them to reassess their approach towards bringing about change. Eventually, Spinner arrives at Kurogiri’s room, convinced that he has finally accomplished something of significance. Yet, his realization of his followers’ desertion quickly dawns upon him.
Upon arriving, Present Mic informs Spinner that Shoji had successfully put an end to the rioters. The attack from Present Mic causes Spinner to stop and the recorder is destroyed, leaving him feeling disheartened.
A brief flashback depicts the events leading up to the present, illustrating how the heteromorph rioters eventually began to contemplate Shoji’s words. Shoji, also affected by their shift in attitude, assures them that their actions towards creating change will continue to spread and eventually yield results.
Despite the efforts of the PLF advisor to rile up the crowd once more, Shoji’s impactful words have already made an impact, effectively putting an end to the riot. With the situation now under control, the heroes redirect their attention towards halting Spinner’s actions.
In the present moment, Spinner is overwhelmed with the fear of failing and takes a moment to look back on his past experiences with the League and Shigaraki. As Present Mic prepares to launch another attack, Spinner makes a bold decision. He quickly runs to Kurogiri and firmly presses one of Shigaraki’s hands onto Kurogiri’s face, begging for his assistance in aiding Shigaraki and the rest of their comrades.
