The latest episode of My Hero Academia Season 7 revealed a surprising turn of events, causing both the series and its viewers to honor a character who met their untimely demise. Warning: Spoilers ahead!
The seventh season of My Hero Academia began with a thrilling start as Star and Stripe joined forces with our heroes to take on Shigaraki and All For One. As the top hero in the USA, Star and Stripe was motivated by All Might and quickly responded to the plea for assistance in stopping the villain, leading to an incredible battle.
Despite being a formidable force in her own right, Star and Stripe managed to give All For One a run for his money. She made his surroundings feel suffocating and caused him quite a headache, especially with the squadron of jets she brought along. Unfortunately, readers of the manga were already aware of how this encounter would end.
Unfortunately, Star and Stripe’s time was cut short as All For One overpowered her and ultimately ended her life after only two episodes. The anime acknowledged her death with a patriotic graphic and thanked her for her contributions, and fans have responded with similar sentiments.
The image has garnered numerous replies, most of which are memes featuring people saluting the American icon for bravely standing up against insurmountable evil on behalf of the world. Some even make references to Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum’s characters in Independence Day, as they are no strangers to fighter jets and risky missions in the disaster film.
Although Star and Stripe may have fallen, at least she went down in a blaze of glory, with fans all over the world honoring her sacrifice. Deku and his friends will have to keep her bravery in mind as they continue on with their own journey.
In the upcoming Season 7, we will first delve into the U.A. Traitor Arc before reaching the highly anticipated final battle against Shigaraki. The ultimate winner of this showdown remains a mystery, but one thing is for sure – there will be an American flag flying proudly in the distance when the dust settles.
