My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 11: Anime vs. Manga Comparison

The eleventh episode of season 7 of My Hero Academia was made available on July 20, 2024. While it may not have been the most spontaneous, it was undoubtedly the most well-directed installment of the seventh installment thus far.

The episodes followed the ongoing battle against Shigaraki, with Nejire, Tamaki, and Mirio joining in to hold off the enemy until Izuku could arrive. However, despite their efforts, TomurAFO proved to be too powerful and Bakugo was forced to intervene, hoping to defeat the demon lord. Tragically, the episode concluded with Bakugo being brutally attacked and left with a broken heart by the villain.

The episode incorporated some improvisation, particularly in the first part where Nejire’s origins were anime-original and certain aspects of the fights were also improvised. However, the episode stayed faithful to the source material and did not deviate significantly from the original chapters. This article will thoroughly examine and compare every aspect of the manga chapters to the corresponding scenes in the episode.

Comparing My Hero Academia season 7 episode 11 to its chapters

My Hero Academia: Season 7, Episode 11 – The Triple Threat Arrives as Mirio Faces Tomura Shigaraki

The final episode of season 7 of My Hero Academia, titled Light Fades to Rain, covered the remaining portion of chapter 359 and chapters 360-362, concluding with the end of volume 36. The episode began with Shigaraki taunting Katsuki Bakugo for only being a means to an end in reaching Izuku Miforiya. Meanwhile, Mirio, Tamaki, and Nejire prepared themselves to stall for time until Izuku arrived.

When Shigaraki put Bakugo’s life in danger, Aizawa asked the other heroes to safeguard the young hero as he aspired to become the top hero someday. In response, Nejire unleashed her powerful Nejire wave, but Shigaraki used Bakugo as a shield, deflecting the attack. Seizing the opportunity, Tamaki tried to inject poison into the villain’s body, but his attempt was also thwarted.

As the villain continued to insult the heroes, Mirio took the opportunity to quickly pull Bakugo away from TomurAFO. The battle between Mirio and TomurAFO began, with the hero mocking the villain for his lack of friends. This awakened the dormant Tenko within TomurAFO, causing the villain’s body to panic as it had still not fully taken control of Tomura Shigaraki.

With his senses back in place, TomurAFO advanced towards Bakugo while Mirio struggled to restrain him. The adaptation had stayed true to the manga, save for minor adjustments to certain scenes for a more realistic effect.

My Hero Academia: The Origin Story of Nejire Hado

In season 7 episode 11 of My Hero Academia, the focus shifted to the childhood of Nejire Hado where she was portrayed as a curious and inquisitive girl. However, she faced ridicule for her unique personality, causing her to lose interest in the world. This aspect was created specifically for the anime, with the studio creating a new design for Nejire’s younger self.

Upon entering U.A. High, she was greeted by Tamaki and Mirio who quickly noticed and appreciated her curiosity and enthusiasm. This support and encouragement gave her the determination to continue pushing forward. When they returned to the battlefield, she assisted Mirio in his attempt to stop Shigaraki and also transferred her quirk energy to Tamaki as he charged his powerful Vast Hybrid attack.

After combining all the animals he had consumed, Tamaki charged at TomurAFO and struck him with the powerful attack. Despite the villain’s attempt to resist, Mirio appeared unexpectedly and exploited his weakness, causing the shockwaves of the attack to ripple out into the world beyond.

The studio’s use of colors for every aspect of the Vast Hybrid in this scene was commendable, as it effectively mirrored All for One’s attack in the manga series. The vibrant colors added depth and intensity to the attack.

Is this the final dance for Katsuki Bakugo in season 7 of My Hero Academia?

Following the dissipation of Tamaki’s powerful Hybrif, the villain emerged from the aftermath and continued to taunt the heroes for their misguided belief in being able to defeat him. Bakugo stood up and instructed Best Jeanist to ensure the safety of their allies. He then strode forward, conversing with Deku about the importance of achieving victory by any means necessary.

In a moment of hyperactivity, he accurately predicted each move of the villain as he jumped forward. The 11th episode of My Hero Academia season 7 also revealed the physical effects of Bakugo’s previous attack. As he made his final attack on the villain, the focus shifted to a scene where Bakugo stood next to All Might’s vestige.

Bakugo shared his admiration for him and requested his signature on his card before returning to the battlefield in My Hero Academia season 7 episode 11. As the rain began to pour, Bakugo was found lying on the ground with a large hole in his chest and his heart torn to pieces.

The music selection was spot on, as the gentle melody intensified the emotional impact of the scene. Bakugo’s unexpected collapse in season 7 episode 11 of My Hero Academia was all the more devastating due to the suddenness of it.
