My Hero Academia season 7 episode 11: UA’s Big 3 confront Shigaraki

The 11th episode of season 7 of My Hero Academia, titled Light Fades To Rain, was broadcasted on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 5:30 pm JST. The episode follows the heroes’ attempt to defeat Shigaraki at the UA Coffin in the Sky. The UA’s Big 3 — Mirio Togata, Amajiki, and Nejire Hado, join forces to battle Shigaraki/AFO, but their efforts prove unsuccessful as the villain is able to complete his fusion with Shigaraki’s body.

Despite suffering from severe injuries, Bakugo manages to regain incredible speed and jumps back into the battle. However, even with his renewed strength, it is not enough to withstand Shigaraki/AFO’s attack, and it pierces his heart.

Opening Events: Mirio Togata Joins the Fight Against Shigaraki in My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 11

The events of My Hero Academia season 7 episode 11 unfold immediately after the previous episode, as Shigaraki delivers a devastating blow to Bakugo after the latter’s most powerful attack proves ineffective against the villain. The heroes are unable to reach Deku, prompting Aizawa to urge Jeanist, Mirko, and Edgeshot to safeguard Bakugo. As Amajiki and Nejire contemplate their future graduation plans, Mirio also joins in.

The UA’s Big 3 then step in to lead the battle against Shigaraki, buying time until Deku’s arrival. Shigaraki’s strategy is to provoke Deku by using Bakugo, taunting him that he will never surpass OFA. In an attempt to stop Shigaraki, Nejire attacks but he uses Bakugo as a shield, causing her to redirect her attack. Shigaraki then turns his attention to Nejire, but Amajiki steps in to intervene, though his efforts are not enough to halt Shigaraki’s advances.

Luckily, with the aid of Jeanist, Mirio is able to save Bakugo and confront Shigaraki, challenging his intentions. Shigaraki’s response causes Mirio to realize that he is lacking genuine companions. With the assistance of Nejire’s shockwave, Mirio is ultimately able to strike a decisive blow against Shigaraki.

At the same time, Jeanist tends to Bakugo’s injury and notices his tears. He offers words of encouragement, praising Bakugo for his performance. Despite the setback, Bakugo remains determined and strategizes his next move, impressing Jeanist with his unwavering dedication.

My Hero Academia S7E11: The Heroes’ Battle Against Shigaraki/AFO with Bakugo Back in Action

In episode 11 of season 7 of My Hero Academia, the spotlight once again falls on Togata and Shigaraki’s confrontation. Togata’s words have a profound effect on Shigaraki, causing him to recall memories from his past. Despite his previous claims, Shigaraki reveals that he does have friends, shocking Togata and revealing the impact of his words. AFO confirms the successful fusion of his own body with Shigaraki’s, declaring them to be a single being.

Despite AFO acknowledging the presence of Tenko Shimura, the remnants of Shigaraki’s past self, they remain determined to swiftly end the fight. Therefore, Shigaraki/AFO sets their sights on Bakugo. A flashback then reveals Mirio’s plan to delay Shigaraki and protect Bakugo, but their attempts ultimately prove futile against the overwhelming power of Shigaraki/AFO.

In episode 11 of season 7 of My Hero Academia, there is a short flashback of the trio’s previous experiences. In the current timeline, Amajiki and Nejire combine their powers to create a powerful attack. Amajiki is determined to protect everyone and unleashes the Vast Hybrid Plasma Cannon, successfully destroying Shigaraki’s growths. Despite their efforts, Shigaraki responds with even more growths, proving their ultimate move to be inadequate.

Despite his severe injuries, Bakugo stands up and prepares to fight once more. Jeanist attempts to intervene, but Bakugo swiftly attacks Shigaraki with incredible speed, blasting his face. His prediction and evasion of Shigaraki’s counterattack leave everyone stunned.

In the final moments of My Hero Academia season 7 episode 11, the story reveals the details of Bakugo’s latest technique, Cluster. This move triggers the formation of sweat beads and puts immense strain on his sweat glands, resulting in remarkable speed. Despite enduring excruciating pain and pressure, Bakugo recognizes that this is the same level of hardship that Deku has endured throughout their journey.

As he ponders, he questions whether he’s still trying to catch up to Deku. At the same time, Shigaraki/AFO is perplexed by Bakugo’s strength even though he is considered a “nobody.”This leads AFO to remember Kudo, the second user of OFA. With a determination to defeat Bakugo, AFO begins his attack.

As Bakugo sees All Might’s vestige, memories of their first encounter flood his mind. He is reminded of his childhood admiration for All Might and his long-standing desire for an autograph, evident by the All Might card he holds tightly. Despite the heroes’ efforts to protect him, Shigaraki/AFO strikes Bakugo, causing everyone to be thrown back. As Bakugo and his card plummet to the ground, he is left shaken by the sudden attack.

Despite the newscaster’s mention of upcoming rain, Bakugo’s parents are worried as they know he despises it. Meanwhile, at the sky coffin, the heroes are recovering from the attack and Shigaraki/AFO declares that it is his moment to shine with his newly completed vessel. As the episode comes to a close, Jeanist prepares to tend to Bakugo’s injuries, but discovers that the attack has caused damage to his heart.
