My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 12 Recap
Named “Those Who Protect, Those Who Transgress”, the episode opened with all of the U.A. Heroes gathered at the Sky Coffin, shocked by the sight of Bakugo’s lifeless body lying in front of Best Jeanist. The entire group was frozen in disbelief, unable to respond as Shigaraki accused Aizawa of endangering the blonde by putting him in the forefront. With a sinister grin, he turned his attention to his next target, Mirko, who was caught in the grasp of his rapidly growing arms.
Upon returning to Kamino Ward, Dabi experienced a complete revival, his deep-seated resentment burning even fiercer than before. Despite nearly succumbing to Shoto’s final attack, he miraculously emerged from the flames with a vibrant blue X etched across his body, mimicking his brother’s abilities. It was later revealed through Skeptic that he had been aiding Shigaraki while also advancing Re-Destro’s goals. In a bold move, he even infiltrated the U.A. Sky Coffin power block.
The Gunga Villa Site became the setting as an injured Hawks and Endeavor finally came face to face with the fully revived AFO. Through the efforts of the Shie Hassaikai and the brilliance of Dr. Garaki, a serum was created using Eri’s Quirk that allowed AFO to regain his youthful, original body, which was in perfect condition.
Despite AFO’s statement that using Rewind would lead to his demise, he still saw it as necessary in order to free Shigaraki from the Heroes’ trap and ensure his will would continue. While Endeavor was recovering, Hawks took it upon himself to stall for time and uncover AFO’s true intentions. The Villain fearlessly declared that his ultimate goal was to destroy the world’s future.
The focus shifts to Washington D.C., where Timothy Agpar is being accused of showing aggression towards Shigaraki. It is later uncovered that a covert battle was raging to win Shigaraki’s approval, with the intention of attacking at the opportune moment. Despite his disapproval, Agpar advocated for the principles represented by Star and Stripe – to inspire the future generation of Heroes. Meanwhile, at the Sky Coffin, Best Jeanist tended to Bakugo’s injuries and Edgeshot valiantly sacrificed himself to become Bakugo’s guiding force.
Mirko managed to break free and retaliated with all her might, causing Shigaraki to feel nervous for the first time. Despite pushing aside the Heroes, he was unable to reach the motionless Bakugo as Mirio unexpectedly intervened. This momentary interruption allowed Midoriya to swoop in and deliver a powerful smash attack on Shigaraki.
