My Hero Academia season 7 episode 17 Compared to Its Chapters
My Hero Academia season 7 episode 17: Shigaraki Awakens
In My Hero Academia season 7 episode 17, titled “Hopes”, the adaptation spans chapters 379-381, along with a portion of chapter 382. The episode commenced with a flashback to the Central Hospital, where Lady Nagant was departing to assist Deku and the heroes. A Pro Hero allowed her to escape, trusting her claims despite the suspicions surrounding her.
Returning to the final war, Lady Nagant struck TomurAFO twice, leading to Shigaraki’s awakening. Seizing the moment, Deku leapt from the Coffin in the Sky, enabling TomurAFO to utilize ‘decay.’ Upon regaining consciousness, Shigaraki rejected All for One’s control, and the vibrant colors representing Shigaraki within All for One poignantly illustrated his inner turmoil.
Meanwhile, Gentle Criminal faced his demise, calling for La Brava’s assistance. During this time, some business course students from U.A. present on the Coffin in the Sky recorded Gentle’s actions. Despite Gentle’s pleas for their safety, they were eager to showcase how a villain could embark on a redemptive journey.
A notable theme in My Hero Academia season 7 episode 17 was the perception of Gentle Criminal as a hero by U.A. students, a recognition not afforded to Lady Nagant, despite her contributions. Nevertheless, the animation of Gentle Criminal’s captivating quirk continued to deserve high praise, mirroring the excellence seen in earlier episodes.
My Hero Academia season 7 episode 17: Shiketsu High Heroes Join the Fray
The narrative progressed to the Gunga Villa site, where heroes were engaged in combat against Toga’s Sad Man’s Death Parade. Amidst the chaos, All for One sought to flee, hoping to prevent Shigaraki from regaining control.
However, Hawks intervened but was struck hard enough by the villain to cause his form to dissipate. This revelation shocked Tokoyami, though it turned out to be a mere illusion created by Camie, the Shiketsu High student previously mimicked by Toga.
Other Shiketsu High students also joined the fray, with Camie’s entrance proving crucial as they rescued Hawks from a dire fate. This action incited All for One’s wrath, pushing him to the brink of stealing the quirks of the students.
In response, Tokoyami unleashed Dark Shadow and delivered a powerful strike, combining his quirk with Inasa’s wind pressure in a move dubbed Black Abyss: Light of Baldur. As anticipated, the animation of Tokoyami’s ultimate attack was exceptional.
