Comparing My Hero Academia season 7 episode 7 to its manga chapters

TomurAFO with the upper hand in battle

The seventh episode of My Hero Academia’s seventh season, titled “Inflation,”adapted chapters 347-349. It picked up where the previous episode left off, with Tomura Shigaraki demonstrating his enhanced physical abilities that even Aizawa’s quirk was unable to nullify.

Despite the damage to Mirko’s artificial limbs during the villain’s rampage, she quickly replaced them. The CGI animation of TomurAFO’s fingers spreading was seamless and did not appear awkward at all.

Upon receiving a request from Monoma for a wrap, Aizawa reached out to Izuku. However, since Aizawa was currently utilizing his quirk, he advised Izuku to make his own way back. Best Jeanist, who was facing a formidable foe alone, appeared concerned but was aided by capable allies.

As anticipated, the battle against TomurAFO in My Hero Academia season 7 episode 7 was expertly executed by Studio Bones to give it an authentic feel. It can be confidently stated that they flawlessly captured every panel from the corresponding manga chapter.

The situation at Okuto Island

The seventh episode of My Hero Academia season 7 then transitioned to Okuto Island, where Gang Orca was engaged in a battle against villains with the help of other heroes such as Uraraka, Tsuyu, and Izuku. Although the fight between Gang Orca and Nomu was longer than in the manga chapters, it was visually stunning.

During the intense battle between Urararka and Tsuya, Deku displayed his quirk and fans were treated to his ‘flick’ move, a scene that was created specifically for the anime and had not been seen in a long time. Toga also joined the fight and Studio Bones faithfully depicted all of her scenes.

Despite her intense desire for blood, it was undetectable by Danger Sense as it was actually her deep love for the protagonist. As the battle intensified between these two opposing forces, Uraraka intervened and advised Deku to flee towards the main battlefield. This particular scene was the most improvised one in the entire episode, deviating significantly from the original manga.

Utilizing the Fa Jin quirk, the Float quirk, and his newly enhanced Air Force gear (engineered by Hatsume), Deku harnessed a powerful air pressure that propelled him towards the main battlefield. This improvised sequence was portrayed by the animation studio, showcasing how Deku expertly activated and combined these forces to take flight.

In season 7 episode 7 of My Hero Academia, the spotlight shifted to the Camino Ward, which had been devastated by Dabi’s flames. As seen in the previous episode, the animation studio clearly has a fondness for Dabi, as each of his scenes is flawlessly animated.

The Camino Ward was depicted as being engulfed in Blue Flames, which is Dabi’s quirk. This anime-original detail perfectly captured the atmosphere, portraying the themes of despair and anger.

In the seventh episode of My Hero Academia season 7, there were also comic book-style texts present in the scene, such as ‘FWOOSH.’ While these are often associated with comedic series, they surprisingly enhanced the atmosphere of the fight and added an aesthetic touch.

The upcoming episode preview also hinted at the anticipated showdown between the two brothers, dubbing them the Two Flashfires. Additionally, the episode may also delve into the backstory of Dabi.
