My Hero Academia Season 7 introduces surprising connection to Attack on Titan

The announcement for the upcoming Season 7 dub of My Hero Academia has revealed a significant alteration for the anime. This change involves the involvement of talent who have previously worked on popular series such as Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball Z, and One Punch Man.

It has been announced by Crunchyroll that the English-language dub of My Hero Academia Season 7 will make its debut on Saturday, May 18, 2024. While some of the familiar voices such as Justin Briner, Eric Vale, and Kyle Hebert will be returning, there will be one notable absence – voice director Colleen Clinkenbeard.

Despite having been in charge of dubbing the previous six seasons, Clinkenbeard has now relinquished her role, allowing Mike McFarland to take over as the overseer of the anime show.

Despite the sudden change, My Hero Academia is still in good hands with McFarland, who has extensive experience in ADR for some of the top anime franchises including One Punch Man, One Piece, YuYu Hakusho, and Attack on Titan.

McFarland has also played smaller parts in My Hero Academia, as he mentioned in a recent tweet on X/Twitter. He stated, “I may have voiced Ojiro and Ectoplasm, but I am determined to Go Beyond Plus Ultra and carry on the amazing work done by Colleen Clinkenbeard and the entire cast and crew!”

The franchise is currently at a crucial point, as the anime is about to enter the Final War Arc. With Star and Stripe already behind us, the U.A. Traitor Arc is set to begin, leading up to the ultimate showdown between Deku and Shigaraki. McFarland certainly has a challenging task ahead, but based on his past work, it is expected to be a highly entertaining experience.
