On Tuesday, April 2, Crunchyroll made an official announcement regarding the streaming date and time for the seventh season of My Hero Academia. They also revealed their plans to stream a compilation special, titled My Hero Academia Memories, before the premiere of the new season. The special will consist of four episodes and will be available in English, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, and Italian dubs, just like the seventh season.
Furthermore, along with its release, the seventh season of My Hero Academia will be accompanied by a new trailer for the franchise’s highly anticipated fourth anime movie, My Hero Academia: You’re Next. The trailer is set to be unveiled this Saturday, April 6, at a yet-to-be-announced time. Fortunately, the trailer will also be available online, making it accessible worldwide as soon as it is released in Japan.
According to the most recent update, Crunchyroll has announced that they will start streaming season 7 of My Hero Academia on May 4 at 5:30 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), immediately following its release in Japan. Additionally, Crunchyroll will also be streaming the special compilation episode, Memories, beginning this Saturday, April 6 at 5:30 a.m. EDT and subsequent episodes will be released on Saturdays, leading up to the highly anticipated season 7 premiere.
Two Major Announcements Set the Path for My Hero Academia Season 7
The upcoming My Hero Academia Memories compilation will reportedly include new scenes in addition to those that have already been aired. This compilation will serve as a precursor to the highly anticipated season 7, which is scheduled to premiere in early May 2024.
The seventh season of the television anime series is eagerly awaited, with fans highly anticipating the content it will cover during its continuous two-cour run. Its first arc, Star & Stripe, will kick off the season and it is predicted to conclude around the midway point of the manga’s ongoing final arc.
The fourth installment of the You’re Next film franchise is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on Friday, August 2, 2024. Kohei Horikoshi, the creator, author, and illustrator of the original manga series, is the general supervisor and original character designer for the film. Additionally, the film will feature a unique storyline set during the same time as the seventh season of the TV anime, depicting the downfall of Pro Hero society.
The original manga series by Horikoshi was first published in July 2014 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. It has been regularly serialized since then and is still ongoing. However, the manga’s final arc is currently in progress and is expected to end soon.
