My Hero Academia Season 7 is set to deliver a poignant battle in the Final War Arc, leaving a significant emotional impact on the voice actors involved.
The series is currently navigating through the first half of the Final War Arc, where Class 1-A confronts Shigaraki and All For One. Leading up to Deku’s critical confrontation with the powerful antagonist, several intense encounters unfold with members of the Paranormal Liberation Front.
One of the standout moments features Uraraka battling Toga, her thematic counterpart, in a dramatic sequence featured in Season 7. This emotional face-off was so impactful that Uraraka’s voice actress experienced a breakdown during the recording process.
“I was crying the whole time,” Ayane Sakura revealed in an interview with the official My Hero Academia website. “During the recording, I could barely see the words on the script and the experience is a blur. Only Toga-chan’s expression from the storyboard remains vividly imprinted in my mind.”
In this heated duel, Toga employs her formidable move, Sad Man’s Legion, leveraging her Quirk to transform into Twice and utilize his cloning abilities. This results in an overwhelming army of duplicates, both heroes and villains, posing a serious threat to Uraraka.
However, demonstrating her empathetic nature, Uraraka manages to redirect the clones against Toga, seeking to comfort rather than harm her adversary. This strategy leads to a subtle transformation in Toga’s character.
“It wasn’t so much acting, but I felt like I was living,” Ayane reflected. She mentioned that the producers praised her performance, while her co-star, Misato Fukuen, found humor in the recording sessions.
“After the dubbing was completed, I wandered around the city and cried alone for a while,” Ayane concluded. These talented voice actors pour their heart and soul into their performances, and fans will witness the outcome when Season 7, Episode 20 airs.
