My Hero Academia: The Fate of All For One and Shigaraki

The conclusion of the biggest and most crucial battle in My Hero Academia saw Deku emerge victorious over All For One and release Shigaraki from his grasp. With the conflict resolved, the question remains: did All For One and Shigaraki meet their demise?

It has been confirmed that Kohei Horikoshi’s hit shonen manga My Hero Academia will soon come to a close. This can be seen from the intense showdown between the main character and the main villains in the latest chapter, My Hero Academia Chapter 423.

Chapter 423 marked the end of the Final Arc in My Hero Academia, which spanned over 80 chapters. In this concluding chapter, Deku fulfilled his destiny as the chosen bearer of One For All, putting an end to All For One’s reign of terror that had lasted for centuries.

The climax of the fight leaves many uncertainties, the most pressing being the fates of All For One and Shigaraki. What truly befell these two characters? Let’s uncover the truth.

Is the fate of All For One and Shigaraki in My Hero Academia uncertain?

In My Hero Academia Chapter 423, it appears that both All For One and Shigaraki have died.

During this chapter, Deku utilized the remaining embers of One For All within him to successfully strike All For One. This caused a resonance that awakened the vestiges of the previous One For All users and Shikaraki within All For One, ultimately leading to the destruction of the villain from within.

The joint assault of Deku, Shigaraki, and the previous One For All wielders appeared to have resulted in the demise of All For One, with his body disappearing and only Shigaraki remaining. Following a brief discourse with Deku in which they reconciled their opposing beliefs, Shigaraki disintegrated and vanished into the air.

Despite not being stated outright, the disappearance of the villains can only indicate that they have met their demise. All For One, who has survived for centuries, experienced numerous transformations and endured countless attacks, both from within and without, during the Final War. Similarly, Shigaraki sustained too many injuries to escape unharmed.

Despite the fact that their bodies were the ultimate cause of their demise, it was not the only factor at play. In his final moments, All For One discovered the last remaining piece of Yoichi within himself. It was at this pivotal moment that he finally revealed his true feelings, confessing his love for his brother and his desperate desire to reunite with him. This powerful moment marked the culmination of All For One’s character development.

Shigaraki’s story reached its conclusion when he was ultimately released from the control of All For One. As he faced his demise, he admitted that perhaps Deku had been correct all along and he was simply a solitary child searching for acceptance.

The resolution of their character arcs further reinforces the notion that All For One and Shigaraki have met their demise in My Hero Academia. With the manga coming to a close, it is logical that the main villains will be resolved before the conclusion of the series.

Despite not being known for killing off its characters, My Hero Academia has made a few exceptions with All For One and Shigaraki. While Chapter 423 did not explicitly state their deaths, the upcoming Chapter 424 will reveal the truth about whether they are truly deceased or not.

With the My Hero Academia manga coming to a close, the anime has just premiered its seventh season and is now available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
