The first global character popularity poll for My Hero Academia, called WORLD BEST HERO, has been launched, allowing fans from all over the world to participate and vote online. The event consists of two stages: the Main Stage and the PLUS ULTRA STAGE.
To start, a total of 278 characters will participate in a two-month poll on the Main Stage, vying for votes. The victorious character from this stage will be crowned as the WORLD BEST HERO. The top three contenders will then move on to the PLUS ULTRA STAGE, where they will battle it out in a 24-hour voting championship for the coveted title of “THE MHA.”
Voting for Your Favorite Hero in My Hero Academia WORLD BEST HERO
Fans have the opportunity to vote for their preferred characters on the My Hero Academia WORLD BEST HERO website, with one vote permitted each day. The voting is reset every day at midnight JST. The Main Stage poll will be accessible from Monday, August 5, 2024, at 6:00 pm JST, until the deadline of Monday, September 30, 2024, at 11:59 pm JST.
During the PLUS ULTRA STAGE, fans will have the opportunity to vote for one of the top three characters from the Main Stage starting on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 8:00 pm JST until Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 7:59 pm JST.
Any updates to the voting schedule will be posted on the official website. During the last phase of voting, fans can cast one vote per hour, for a total of 12 votes within a 24-hour period.
Result announcement
The midterm poll results will be disclosed on the official My Hero Academia WORLD BEST HERO website on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 7:00 pm JST. The final results for the Main Stage will be declared on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 7:00 pm JST.
The final results for the PLUS ULTRA STAGE will be announced on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 9:30 pm JST. These announcements will be included in special programs that will be broadcasted on Shonen Jump’s official YouTube channel, Jump Channel.

Poll Results Sharing Campaign
In this category, contestants are required to follow the official anime X account (@/myheroacademia) and post the daily poll results during the entire voting period. Each person may apply multiple times using their account.
Three fortunate individuals will be chosen at random to receive a digital file with a personalized signature from Mangaka Kohei Horikoshi. The winners will be notified via a direct message on X in mid-October 2024.
Fan Art Contest
Fans can begin submitting their fan art of their preferred hero on X for this specific category using the hashtags #WBH_FANART or #がんばれって感じのファンアート (DoYourBestFanArt) starting from Monday, August 5, 2024 at 6:00 pm JST. The submission period will remain open until Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 11:59 pm JST.
The announcement of the results will take place on the My Hero Academia WORLD BEST HERO site on Sunday, September 15, 2024. The top ten chosen submissions will be rewarded with a digital file containing a signature from Mangaka Kohei Horikoshi.
Super Poll Event
To commemorate the final chapter of My Hero Academia and the upcoming release of the last fan book in January 2025, four voting events will be held.
The categories for the upcoming awards are as follows: Most Popular Hero Name (August 5-11, 2024), Quirk (August 12-18, 2024), Best Chapter (August 19-25, 2024), and Inside Covers of Manga Volumes (August 26-September 1, 2024).
