My Hero Academia x Hyperfly x NBALAB Collab Celebrates Boston Celtics’ NBA Finals Win

On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, the official X account for the My Hero Academia franchise announced Phase 2 of their collaboration with NBALAB and Hyperfly. This partnership had previously resulted in the release of NBA team jackets featuring designs from the Hyperfly brand in 2023, incorporating the popular character All Might from the series.

The My Hero Academia X account’s post hinted at the release of Phase 2 later this year, with the shared image of Izuku “Deku”Midoriya acting as a sneak peek. The post also acknowledged the Boston Celtics’ recent NBA Finals victory, marking their eighteenth win in franchise history and setting a new record for the most Finals wins by any NBA team.

My Hero Academia Announces Second Phase of NBALAB x Hyperfly Collaboration following Boston Celtics’ Record-Breaking Victory

Regrettably, at the time of writing this article, there is no further information available regarding the second phase of the collaboration between the three brands mentioned. Nevertheless, it is anticipated that the Boston Celtics will be a prominent focus, as the My Hero Academia X post announcing the second phase specifically mentions their historic victory.

Fans can anticipate new offerings to be the main focus of the second phase of the collaboration, although there is a possibility of restocking previous items. The second phase is expected to heavily feature Deku, while the first phase primarily centered around All Might in the collaboration products.

It is probable that the collaboration will be launched in Fall 2024, considering the timing of the announcement. As the summer clothing season is already in progress, the earliest possible release date for the collaboration would be Fall 2024. However, it is also possible that the release date could be pushed to Winter 2025 due to potential delays or the companies’ decision to take their time with the clothing line.

Kohei Horikoshi, the creator, author, and illustrator of the original manga series, first began publishing it in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in July 2014. The series has been consistently serialized there and is currently still ongoing, although it is now in its epilogue stage. It is anticipated that the manga will conclude sometime this year. So far, 410 out of the 425 chapters that have been released have been collected into 40 volumes.

The anime adaptation of Horikoshi’s original manga series, produced by Studio BONES, debuted in April 2016 with a single-season run. Subsequent seasons 2 through 6 have all consisted of two seasons each, and the current season 7 follows this pattern. In addition to the ongoing season, the franchise will also release its fourth anime film, titled You’re Next, in Japanese theaters on August 2. The film will take place in a similar time frame to the current anime storyline.
