My Hero Academia: You’re Next’s Fight Scenes and the Growth of Deku and Bakugo’s Friendship

The cast of My Hero Academia: You’re Next has hinted at the potential growth and development of the strained dynamic between Bakugo and Deku in the upcoming movie.

In 2024, My Hero Academia will continue to dominate with the conclusion of the manga, the release of Season 7 of the anime series, and a highly anticipated new movie, You’re Next.

In preparation for the upcoming fourth installment of the superhero anime, Daiki Yamashita and Nobuhiko Okamoto made an appearance at the Japanese premiere where they discussed the plot. They disclosed that Bakugo and Deku’s relationship deepens due to the events that unfold, leading to a newfound admiration for one another.

According to Oricon, Nobuhiko reveals that there will be additional scenes where we see the characters fighting together. He believes that their ability to work together without any personal biases allows them to see each other as true heroes.

Daiki agrees, stating that while most people would typically create a concrete plan and engage in battle, these two are able to quickly determine the most effective approach to fighting. He finds this ability to be truly impressive.

Bakugo is known for his explosive temperament and actions, both literally and figuratively, as one of the most dynamic students in Class 1-A. He has often been compared to Vegeta, the grumpy and sometimes villainous counterpart to Deku’s Goku, but ultimately he tends to lean towards the side of good.

Bakugo and Deku share a strong chemistry that has developed throughout the main storyline. Bakugo acknowledges Deku’s strength and potential, and the importance of having allies in the fight against Shigaraki. Furthermore, Deku’s compassion has sparked a change in Bakugo that has been evident over the past six seasons and three movies.

It is yet to be determined how You’re Next will contribute to this, but with the introduction of an evil All Might, referred to as Dark Might, it will surely present a challenge for everyone. This serves as the perfect remedy to the bittersweet ending of the manga after ten years.

Regrettably, it will be October 11, 2024 before we can experience You’re Next for ourselves.
