My Hero Academia’s Final Rising Chapter Features a Different Character, Not Tomura Shigaraki

The latest chapter of My Hero Academia, chapter 422, titled “Izuku Midoriya: Rising,”has been released. This title symbolizes the protagonist’s determination to defeat All For One, and it is possible that another character may also have a significant chapter in the coming future. Although many anticipate Tomura Shigaraki to play a crucial part in the series’ climax, it is possible that Tenko Shimura may take on this role instead.

Many fans of My Hero Academia are already familiar with the fact that Tenko Shimura is the true identity of Shigaraki, who was manipulated as a child by All For One and transformed into a merciless villain. This is why it is logical for his younger self to play a significant role in the ultimate showdown.

Throughout the series, it has been consistently mentioned that Shigaraki is a manifestation of the personality created by Tenko in response to his traumatic experiences. With the recent revelation that All For One had a hand in shaping him, this aspect of his character may resurface to torment the villain.

Please note that this article contains spoilers for the series.

Explaining How Tenko Shimura Could Get His Own Rising Moment in the My Hero Academia Manga

According to this theory, Tenko Shimura may have a significant role in the final battle as he fights to regain control of his body. All For One would be forced to defend against attacks from multiple directions, as Tenko removes the persona of Tomura Shigaraki and uncovers All For One’s manipulations that led him to become his servant.

Additionally, it is possible that there is another perspective to consider: Tenko regaining control of his body after All For One’s defeat. The final moments in the vestige world have heavily featured Tenko, indicating that despite All For One’s possession, there may still be remnants of Tenko’s consciousness within him, as stated by All For One himself.

Should Nana Shimura’s vestige be confirmed to be alive, there remains the potential for one last encounter between her and Tenko. This could ultimately inspire him to embrace heroism and serve as a fitting conclusion to his character arc, in line with the “Rising”theme of the series.

Despite being initially set up as the next evil overlord in the My Hero Academia series, Tomura Shigaraki’s legacy is likely to be met with controversy as the story comes to a close. While his character was intended to grow into a powerful and self-determined villain, author Kohei Horikoshi ultimately reveals that he had been under the manipulation of All For One all along.

The fandom has long speculated that Shigaraki may undergo a redemption arc, and recent events in the manga, such as All For One’s remarks in chapter 418, suggest that this may indeed occur in the upcoming chapters. This potential shift in direction for a character who was initially portrayed as the main antagonist of the series is likely to create differing opinions among fans.

Final thoughts

The upcoming chapters of the My Hero Academia manga may provide Tenko Shimura with an opportunity to showcase his abilities and come to terms with his desire to become a hero. It is also possible that he may play a role in defeating All For One. However, these are merely speculations from fans at this point.
