As a standout sensation on Netflix last year, My Life with the Walter Boys has raised the question among fans: will there be a Season 2? Here’s what we’ve gathered so far.
Netflix has carved out a niche for itself in the teen drama genre, presenting a variety of shows from supernatural narratives like School Spirits to heartwarming coming-of-age tales like High Tides. Among its latest offerings is My Life with the Walter Boys, which resonates with audiences, particularly for its love triangle plot, reminiscent of the Prime Video phenomenon, The Summer I Turned Pretty.
Release Date for Season 2
No official release date has been announced for Season 2 of My Life with the Walter Boys, but viewers can expect it to premiere in 2025. The renewal announcement came on December 19, 2023, just 12 days post the debut of Season 1.
Series creator Melanie Halsall expressed her excitement during an interview with Tudum, stating: “I am beyond thrilled that My Life With the Walter Boys has been renewed. We have been overwhelmed by the love and support that the audience has given the show and can’t wait to dive back into the world of Silver Falls.” A behind-the-scenes clip showcasing the cast’s reaction to the news was also circulated by Netflix.

What is the Premise for Season 2?
The plot for Season 2 remains under wraps, but it has been confirmed that it will not directly follow the second book in the series, titled My Return to the Walter Boys. Season 1 was based on the first book, but deviated from the source material as it progressed, especially as Jackie’s journey culminated in her decision to return to New York rather than adhering to the book’s plotline.
Halsall has envisioned a long-term narrative arc, which is evident from her creative choices. “When developing a series meant for multiple seasons, changes to the original story are essential. I sought to surprise the audience and provide them with unexpected elements,” she explained.
While Jackie’s ultimate direction—and whether she will end up with a partner or choose independence—remains a tantalizing mystery, the show aims to keep viewers engaged with its evolving storyline. Expect My Life with the Walter Boys Season 2 to premiere in 2025.
