On Friday, July 26, 2024, mangaka Shiro Manta concluded their 7-year run of the popular manga My Senpai is Annoying by publishing its final chapter on the Pixiv comic website. Publisher Ichijinsha had previously announced that the series would end with its 13th and final compiled volume, which was released on May 24, 2024.
In 2017, Shiro Manta launched their manga My Senpai is Annoying on Ichijinsha’s Pixiv Comic site, featured in the digital magazine Comic POOL. The manga’s success led to an anime adaptation produced by Doga Kobo Studios, which aired from October to December 2021 for a total of 12 episodes. Currently, there is no news regarding a potential sequel.
Shiro Manta’s My Senpai is Annoying concludes after seven-year serialization
As previously stated, on Friday, July 26, 2024, Shiro Manta, the creator of the popular manga My Senpai is Annoying (Senpai ga Uzai Kohai no Hanashi), unveiled the final chapter (236) of the romantic comedy series. The mangaka also shared illustrations from the chapter with fans on the same day on his official X account (@shiromanga1θ2θ).
Earlier, on its X account (@ichijinsha_info), the Japanese publishing company Ichijinsha announced that the manga series would conclude with its 13th volume. The upcoming volume will include the final chapter. It is worth noting that the mangaka has yet to confirm if there will be an epilogue.
In addition, after the final chapter was released, Shiro Manta shared a sincere message with his readers. The mangaka’s Japanese comments, when translated to English, were as follows:
“Thank you so much for reading for the past 7 years! I didn’t realize it was while I was drawing, but after hearing everyone’s thanks for their hard work, I suddenly felt very lonely. Futaba and the others’ lives will continue, so I hope to continue to show them to everyone through me from time to time.”
Furthermore, Shiro Manta expressed his determination to persevere in his career as a manga artist. The mangaka also expressed his appreciation for his readers’ continued support.
In the concluding chapter of My Senpai is Annoying manga, Harumi Takeda made a promise to remain by Futaba’s side as her husband. This assurance brought tears to Futaba’s eyes, and the chapter concluded on a joyous note for the main pair.
