The premiere date for If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student anime has been confirmed for October 6, 2024 by the anime’s official staff on Thursday, September 5, 2024. Along with the announcement, a new promotional video was released, giving a glimpse of the rom-com series’ opening theme song.
The anime adaptation of Yayu Murata’s manga series, If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student, was produced by Studio Signpost. The manga was initially a one-shot before being serialized in Houbunsha’s Weekly Manga Times magazine. Additionally, Yayu Murata’s series has served as inspiration for a TV drama that aired its episodes from January to March 2022.

On Thursday, September 5, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for the If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student shared a new trailer, announcing that the release date for the film would be October 6, 2024 (Fall 2024).
The broadcast schedule has been announced, revealing that If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student anime will air its episodes every Sunday at 10 PM JST on Tokyo MX, starting from October 6, 2024. Following that, the anime will also be broadcast on BS11 at 11:30 PM JST.
Starting October 7, 2024, viewers in Japan will have the opportunity to catch the episodes of this anime on Sun TV at 12:30 AM JST. In addition to Tokyo MX, BS11, and Sun TV, fans can also watch the show on AT-X every Thursday at 9 AM JST and every Monday at 3 PM JST, beginning October 8, 2024.
The most recent preview depicts Takae, now a 10-year-old elementary school student, reuniting with her husband Keisuke. The emotional reunion between Keisuke, Takae, and their daughter Mai is captured as they all shed tears of joy.
The brief teaser also depicts Takae becoming upset with Keisuke’s excessive display of affection towards her, disregarding the opinions of others. Without a doubt, the preview puts focus on the Niijima family as they rediscover how to live. Additionally, viewers are treated to a sneak peek of the opening theme song, Ai no Reunion (Reunion of Love), sung by Pachae.
The official staff has confirmed that the advanced screenings for the anime adaptation of If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student will take place on September 21, 2024. The voice actors for Keisuke, Takae, Mai, Chika, Renji, and director Noriyuki Abe will be in attendance and interact with the audience on stage.

The main characters in this production are portrayed by Daisuke Hirakawa as Keisuke Niijima, Aoi Yuki as Takae Niijima and Marika Shiraishi (Takae’s reincarnated self). Joining the voice cast are Maiko Nomura as Mai Niijima, and Sachiko Kojima as Chika Shiraishi. Kana Okazaki lends her voice to Konomi Moriya, while Mutsuki Iwanaka takes on the role of Renji Aikawa.
Noriyuki Abe directs at Studio Signpost, with Sawako Hirabayashi serving as the supervisor and scriptwriter. Narihito Sekikawa is responsible for character design, and Hiroko Yamasaki is the credited music composer. Keiichiro Miyoshi, known for his work on the Burn the Witch 0.8 anime, is also enlisted as the music director.
The anime adaptation of If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student is based on Yayu Murata’s manga. It depicts Keisuke Niijima’s continued grief, even a decade after the death of his beloved wife, Takae.
One day, everything changes when a young girl from elementary school comes to his house and reveals herself as Takae, who has been reborn as a different girl. The anime will depict Keisuke’s challenges as he navigates the dynamics of having a grade school student with the wisdom and maturity of a 40-year-old.
