After receiving death threats for her previous comments about the USA women’s gymnastics team, MyKayla Skinner turned to Instagram to implore Simone Biles to put an end to their public dispute.
On August 6, MyKayla Skinner, a former Olympic gymnast, appealed to Simone Biles on Instagram to resolve their ongoing conflict.
MyKayla’s disagreement began when she made a statement in a now-deleted YouTube video, saying “the talent and depth of the 2024 Olympic women’s gymnastics team just isn’t what it used to be.”
After winning gold on July 30th, Simone took to Instagram to respond to MyKayla with an epic caption on photos of her and the rest of Team USA celebrating.
“Simone wrote that her former teammate was lacking in talent, lazy, and not an Olympic champion, mocking them in the process.”
It was at this point that the negativity truly escalated, prompting MyKayla to speak out about the gravity of the situation on IG. “The situation has spiraled out of control in recent times. Witnessing individuals encouraging the bullying, resulting in threats of physical harm towards myself, my husband, and our daughter, is utterly deplorable.”
“Therefore, I am earnestly requesting for it to cease at this point, solely for the well-being of my family, as I believe that we have endured enough.”
MyKayla continued by stating that Simone’s post on Instagram had triggered a relentless wave of hate, including death threats that were impossible to avoid.
She proceeded to beg, “Therefore, I am directly and openly asking Simone to please put an end to this and request her followers to stop.”
Furthermore, she emphasized that she fully accepts responsibility for not clearly expressing the content of her YouTube video regarding Simone, Suni Lee, Hezly Rivera, Jade Carey, and Jordan Chiles.
MyKayla emphasized the importance of mental health, stating that the community needs her and Simone to reconcile more than anything at this moment.
Despite limiting the comment interactions, her viral post received minimal feedback.
Despite the fact that only a few were able to share their thoughts, they expressed that “enough is enough”and that “no one should receive death threats.”
Despite MyKayla’s message, Simone has not yet responded. She recently completed her competition in Paris, causing netizens to eagerly await her message to fans.
