Nadeshot has announced the need for eye surgery due to ongoing vision problems he’s experienced while streaming Valorant. He has been diagnosed with a condition known as Pellucid Marginal Degeneration (PMD).
A former competitive Call of Duty player, Nadeshot, who is the founder of 100 Thieves, maintains a regular streaming schedule on Twitch where he primarily focuses on Valorant.
His streaming audience has observed his struggles with visibility in-game, prompting him to purchase various monitors and tweak his gaming setup, yet he was unable to find a suitable solution.
“If you have been watching my streams, you’ll notice I’ve frequently expressed frustration over my eyesight. This led me to a desperate search for different OLED monitors, attempting to play in 1440p, and positioning the screen as close to my face as physically possible,” he shared.
Following consultations with eye care professionals, Nadeshot revealed his diagnosis of Pellucid Marginal Degeneration (PMD), a condition where the cornea becomes thin and protrudes. This ailment is commonly seen in men within the age range of 20 to 40.
“It’s a pretty messed up situation,” Nadeshot stated in a post on X/Twitter. “I need to undergo a procedure called crosslinking, in which they introduce vitamins into my eye and subsequently harden it using UV light.”

“In short, I no longer feel like I’m losing my mind, as there’s a real explanation for why my vision has been compromised,” he added.
Nadeshot mentioned that he might need to rely on “hard contacts” for the foreseeable future.
With a touch of humor, he mentioned at the close of his video that he is “legally blind,” but emphasized that PMD typically does not result in complete blindness; rather, it leads to blurred vision and can deteriorate if left untreated.
“Once I undergo this surgery, I’m determined to reach Radiant rank,” he concluded, currently sitting at Immortal 3 in Valorant while striving for the highest tier without professional assistance.
However, he may take a break from Valorant soon, given that the launch of Black Ops 6 is imminent on October 25, which fans are eagerly anticipating to hear his thoughts on the latest installment of Call of Duty.
